Promoted to a Sr Dir role (client care/ops support) and I will go from Dir of 1 acct team w/2 direct reports and myself as a coach/player to having 23 acct teams and the sr staff on each as my direct reports. 4 months ago I was excited to go back to the office (in NYC). Despite my hour long commute each way from the burbs, I enjoyed the culture and missed seeing my coworkers. Now that we’re close to discussing soft open dates, I have ZERO interest in going back. None. I’m productive (despite not producing much dire to budget cuts), half my teammates have left and I find no reason to attend 7 “meetings that could’ve been emails” a day. Anyone else feel the same? I am a Senior Project Manager for a custom estate builder. We build homes over $50mm in construction costs for the ultra wealthy. I have been with this firm for 15 years and make $350K annual. There is only one partner and the sole proprietor who is essentially retired. They split ~$5MM in profits per year. I have reached the limit on title / career progression in my company - nowhere upwards to go. I highly doubt they will ever partner anyone else into the business. Do I leave?

Prepping for a CRO interview with the CEO of a smaller tech company (approx 70 employees) experiencing explosive growth. They want someone to run sales, alliances, & marketing, with heavy influence around product development so not really a traditional CRO role. Working on prep and curious if anyone has any ideas around questions I should be prepared to answer? Questions I should ask? Seems like an interesting role that should be a good fit with my background. Other thoughts?

I took the role I am in about a year ago and it just has not been what was promised and a huge step back. I have found a good place and am content but not overly happy with my place in the company. A smaller competitor reached out for a vp position that is a huge step up responsibility wise. There would be a pay raise but not huge so money is not the motivator here.
