PSA: Hidden fee for Iberia
Iberia has a couple of price points for tickets that are “fully refundable” when you want to cancel them. While they claim that these are fully refundable, the only way to cancel the tickets is through a paid “booking center”.
I decided to contact my credit card company instead and let them to speak to Iberia.
Am I saving a lot by doing so? No.
Am I avoiding the bad feeling of being tricked? Sure.

I only bring in a little over $2,600 a month. After paying all my expenses, I get to put away $500 a month in savings but don’t have much wiggle room for anything else, including going out money.

I’m very privileged to have a significant inheritance and zero debt of any kind. I really wonder how my peers who have student loans, car payments, and even children manage to pay their bills and live so comfortably. Please share if this is you!

What's the rationale for having a savings account these days?

My boyfriend and I make 200K combined and live in NJ. We have $1000 in monthly car payments combined. That’s all we owe. Our credit scores are in the 800s. We have 50K to put down on a home. We have done the math and I know we can afford much more but he doesn’t want to buy more than a 400K home. I’m almost positive we can afford 500K and be more than ok. But then he starts to talk about how much kids cost and how we will be house poor and we won’t be able to afford kids. 🤔 Am I insane??
