I found using GoFormative’s free version to be very helpful in teaching new topics to my students. I embed videos I make demonstrating how to complete a question, next I ask them to complete an example showing work, and then the next question they type their answer so it automatically alerts them to see if they answered correctly. It can be used live in a meet and on an independent virtual day. In my google meets, I’m able to give feedback on any question they have trouble with in real time.

General corporate in NY looking to lateral into tech transactions at one of the EC/VC firms. I’ve heard that I may get a class cut if I make the move but I’m ok with that. My worry is that EC/VC firms are crazy busy work differently from general corp, I also won’t have control over my hours, and potentially worse based on how billing differs (block billing on a few clients vs having to work with 15 or more startups). Is the same true for tech trans or IP group?

What’s your opinion on math homework? I teach 4th grade and have always given it but I’d like to see what others do and weigh out if it’s really worth it. If I give it, I feel like I should spend class time going over it but on the other hand I stress myself out trying to keep the absent work organized and those that don’t even do the work.

I’ve recently started work at a very young tech startup. Coming from a big law background, this was a huge change of pace/environment. It feels like hire ups give a set of instructions then talk as if they don’t remember, or then decided rules A, B, C and D applies without being clear this was the case. Has anyone been able to switch (to industry ) on H1 visa? I am getting a lot of interest from recruiters but am not able to get past the initial screening because of visa.
