Question: I’m a designer - going to interview in person this week and just recently got locs done. A friend of mine was telling me how this isn’t a good idea because locs are too ethnic and not corporate looking enough for an interview. But I’m a designer. I do not work for corporate America. Should your hair style really matter that much for an interview?

I’m considering applying for a position at Anchor in their creative department but I’m worried that they are too new to the industry. Does anyone have any input into the company and their growth?

Actually, I gave Interview for BackEnd Developer @ Itilite. I was selected in the interview process (2 Tech DSA Based + HR) and got a mail stating that our interview panel is really impressed with your domain related expertise in order to proceed with offer negotiation please submit your documents. Now after 2-3 days of document submission, they came up by saying they cant move forward with my candidature.

I am still amazed how can they do this after asking my documents.

Often feel betrayed by my Ps when they question my work in front of the client, only to be proven otherwise. Happened many times and I don’t know how to change this - my integrity and work quality is questioned publicly and after much due diligence it gets proven that I did really good. What do I do?

I prepared a presentation for an interview with a sales leader, it went well and I was offered a final interview with regional manager. The sales leader I interviewed with gave me a bunch of feedback, but said to find out information about tech stack, which I for some reason, didn’t consider. I come to find out that deep, hidden within the website of the hypothetical client, they use the service already. Do I roll into the final interview and play dumb or do i present and then come clean?

My current salary is under market average for my position but based off my coworkers’ negative experiences with asking for raises/promotions, I’m not really sure how to go about starting the conversation with my manager. My book is just spec and side projects. I’m trying to get a new junior-to-mid role because I’ve gotten nothing good produced where I’m at, and I have zero faith this will change if I stick around.

I’m asked for work samples from recruiters and CDs even though I make clear that what I’ve done doesn’t reflect who I am as a creative. Think CRM/DM/B2B stuff. They insist on it, and I never hear back afterwards.

Not sure what to do. Almost feel like I’d be better off erasing my agency experience.
