Quit my job early, thinking I’d have six months to travel before business school. What would you do with the time now that travel / going back to work is out of the picture?

I would research scholarship opps for 2nd year, do some prelim research on companies I’m interested in interning at, work out get fit, spend time with family

helpful

Where did you start for scholarship research? School-specific opps or otherwise?

Thoughts on finding freelance work (not sure where to start) or a pre-MBA internship? I’ve been volunteering on/off but nothing consistent.

For context, I’m going back to my firm post-graduation but eager to learn and need a bit more structure in my day than just relaxing for the next few months 😊

I think internships would be difficult to find at this time, but there’s definitely remote work out there. Start hitting up the recruiters who’ve reached out to you and see what they have to say.

You saved that much ahead of time to travel for 6 months and not work while in business school? Go head!

Just relax for a bit! I quit in Jan before bschool lol was also burned out

Drink tons of alcohol.
Watch a lot of Netflix.

Agree on learn new language or technical skill. Or invest in and renovate a house. My two things I’d do with any spare time.

Any resume writer referrals? I’m trying to make the jump into project management. I have 13YOE managing cross-departmental projects and people, and I’d like to shed the general EA work of calendars/travel/expenses. But recruiters just see my most recent role is EA and that’s all they want to talk to me about. I’m hoping a better written resume will help target algorithms to get my resume viewed for other roles.

My natural instinct is to assume rejection if I have conflict with a partner or don’t think my feelings are reciprocated. I’ll try to bring it up with them, but I’ll say “if you want to end this feel free” so it doesn’t hurt me (and they can say what they really mean instead of sugarcoating). Someone told me today that they just assume I’m not interested because I always seem to “run” but I’m not sure how to bring up problems/feelings otherwise. How do you approach these hard questions?
