Quitting the firm. Employed since early 2015. How does the 401k match work given the end of calendar year is coming up? Is the match prorated if I’m not employed with EY on Jan 1?

No they don’t, they match at the end of the year. If you quit on Dec 30 you don’t get the match.

Pretty sure they match throughout the year?

The vesting schedule is online. Most places have a 2 year period of service before you get access to the company match. You get access to your money immediately (or as soon as they cut a check)

You have to be employed 12/31 to get the match. It is displayed on all pay statements

SM1 is right!

I’m confused by backdoor Roth pro rata rule. I’d appreciate any explanation or a link. 2 issues: 1. I switched jobs in March and converted my old 401k of $120k to a rollover-IRA and invested. My wife did a 401k rollover 4 years ago and invested IRA since. Does she get taxed if backdoor? 3. What if I transfer taxed $ from bank -> IRA -> Roth w/o investing?

My view on the whole student loan forgiveness thing is that everyone should just get some money. UBI or negative income tax. People who attended college and who even have loans are still generally better off than people who didn’t attend college. Don’t see a reason why the govt should give money to the non poor. Also, it’s really not fair to all the people who went to worse schools and now don’t make as much because they wanted to avoid loans. Thoughts?

Ladies can we talk salary. Like real numbers. It sucks everyone is so secretive about it. I make $120k base plus 15% incentive comp. I am based in Atlanta. I have unlimited PTO and incredible benefits overall. I’ve been in marketing for 10 years and in product management for three. I have an MBA and 4 direct reports. Am I paid fairly? Are you paid fairly? I’m considering a move and I think market value for a senior product manger (my current title) is about 130-140 in this market. Weigh in!
