Reference question:

Company is requesting 3 references prior to offer, two being former supervisors, and one can be a colleague.

Ive sent texts to 3 former supervisors as well as a past colleague, and one supervisor and the colleague responded immediately saying they’d be happy to be references.

If I don’t hear back from either of the other two tomorrow, would it be unethical to list one anyway?

send more texts - three references is alot tho. i didnt have to provide any for my fortune 500

Unethical?! What would be unethical about that. May not be a smart move regardless

Note that I had a good relationship with both of these supervisors and left on good terms with good reviews.

did you get an offer

No she does not. SAHM to 3.

They already spoke to the two responsive references but I did let them know the others might not be available. So I’m happy they’re already on it.

Does anyone have recommendations for an accountant (CPA)? I feel like word-of-mouth is going to be better than all the googling I’ve been doing. I’m open to having an accountant not in the state I live in, but preferably east coast. This year I’m going to need a decent accountant for tax planning purposes as my taxes will be more complicated. Feel free to DM directly

Q’s for hiring partners and recruiters - you know that most associates quit their managing attorneys and not the firm/case. I’m in that boat. What do I say to a prospective employer about the situation of why I want to jump ship?

Very brief background - I’m a senior associate who has been on one complex commercial litigation case for over a year. Over time, the relationships between attorneys on the case have deteriorated to the point that it is affecting my productivity/work. I want out.

I generally like the work I do and the people I work with, but I really don’t like the hours and the constant late nights and weekends. Currently on pace for 2250. Boutique I have been eyeing has billable hour requirement of 1500-1600 and comes with a 20-25% paycut. Is this a stupid idea and should I grind it out until I can move in house? Will this ruin my opportunities down the road?
