Check out venture X instead of CSR mostly same perks but lower costs and current offer is really good. CSP is a good choice for the lower annual fee
Thanks, I’ll check it out!
If you’re firm on CSR vs CSP the main consideration would be the precheck/global entry credit, lounge access, and then how much you’ll be spending on it to get the extra points

In order to get the bonus credit on Venture X you have to book through the portal. I'm anti Airbnb these days, as are many, so that's not much of a perk for some.
CSR also has a $300 travel credit that gets applied against any airfare, hotel, parking, transit, car service, tolls you charge on the card. I never hear people mention that, but to me it's a huge winner in that it's automatic.
Not me having CSP and still having to read through all the comments to figure out what these abbreviations mean
It's a math question, and I think for most people the CSR is a no brainer. On paper, the card is $450 more expensive, but subtract the $300 travel credit and were talking about $150. So the question is whether the Reserve has $150 in value over the Preferred.
I call it a no brainer because of the redemption premium. If you earn 60,000 points a year, they have $750 value if you have the preferred but a $900 value if you have the reserve. There's your value. (Disclosure: some points pros may consider this moot, because the best use of chase points is to transfer them to loyalty programs, and when used this way the points have the same value whether you have the Reserve or Preferred.)
Even beyond the points, the perks of the Reserve are pretty sweet and worth it (to me).

I've used my Dashpass (DoorDash) benefit heavily, and the primary liability car insurance saved me hundreds of dollars when I didn't have to buy the mandatory insurance on a car rental in Ireland. I think it's the only US credit card that has primary liability.
