I worked at a big company many years ago and my commute was horrendous, but going into the office was my social life… it was incredibly fun to see so many people every day , I made so many friends and even met my spouse at work . I think it’s incredibly beneficial to our mental health., just having something to wake up for and get dressed is also helpful. If you are working from home, I suggest definitely getting a gym membership or classes. maybe make a weekly Friday afternoon happy hour plan that everyone has to go to. Watch comedies! Just do your best of socialize outside the home
My coworkers aren’t my best friends, but agencies are a social vibe. You do get social needs met through them that you have to find elsewhere without being on site.

I'm back in office and I hate the commute. When I was remote, it was nice to jump to a coffee shop that was five mins away to get out of the house. Sometimes I'd hit up a coworker on my team to meet someplace close to work together. Or once in a blue moon, I'd go to the office (by my choice) to just change up the scenery and take snacks.
Interaction is nice, but I liked the time of NOT commuting to enjoy my life more. Like being able to go for a run before work, get to my desk, work, then shower on my lunch. There was more freedom to balance work and life before RTO.
I worked full remote for several years before now. It most definitely fucked with my mental health.
I’d love to actually collaborate with people in person. Or just shoot this shit at work from time to time.
When you’re constantly working at home, home doesn’t really always feel like home. I definitely do better with a separation of the two.
Yea but it’s not worth it versus all the good things about being remote.
