The increase in pay isn't that great for all the doubts you have about the new role. You'll make that salary in 2 years or so whenever you make consultant
Also I'm up for promotion to senior analyst this year. Pretty much guaranteed.
The longer you stay the better the exits, don't leave for a one-time bump. Annual merit increases are probably going to marginal (e.g. inflation %) in that role and upward mobility limited
And while the role pays 100-105k, it is a much less interesting and I'm nervous if taking this job will hinder my progression as this company is not considered "brand name" to have on my resume. However The increase in pay is hard to deny.
Don't sounds stupid. I was SA making 90, left for 135 for a manager role. Get 4-5 years exp on your resume, and then jump. You'll make a lot more. Also stay technical, you're too young to leave for a compliance role.
SA is senior analyst at Accenture. Manager in industry now.
Hahah 30! I came into Accenture as experienced hire...didn't start my career until I was 25-26, sooo a little late for me.
Honestly - If you are ready, after 2 years (1 as Analyst, 1 as SA), you can get promoted. I have 3 SA in my team that Im supporting for promo and they all have been about 2 years with the company. And that was my case back when I got promoted to consultant. 2 years as an analyst, SA was not a thing.
@op 81k right out of undergrad? What the
Well yes I started out from undergrad.....I mean I love Accenture and the people. The job is no doubt a promotion, and I would be able to see that kind of money now instead of in 2 years when I make consultant. I just want to be able to have options if I ever decide to leave the industry job and that I'm not tarnished because of that, you know.
Holy fuck I need to move to Accenture. Our starting salary was 70k. OP I'd move you can always come back to consulting
Move if it's a better job. Don't move for the money. You'll make more in consulting very soon.
@a3 where were you a SA? Where are you a manager?
You must be like 24. Manager? Nice!
You will make this salary by the time you make consultant next year. I agree with poeple here, get more experience because this jump will be a lot more valuable later in life.
@a4 OP gonna make senior analyst this year. That means consultant in another 2 at least right?
1-3 years. 1 if u lead a piece of a project and do outside work
And ur mngr and cc vouch for you, but that's any review year I guess
