check out the Gaslamp Quarter. Should keep you mostly entertained
Din Tai Fung near UCSD.
Also, there is a DTF at Petco Park in the lower bowl. Haven’t tried it so can’t attest to quality, but it’s an option.
Tijuana
Stone has a brewery in Escondido that does amazing food and has a badass outdoor area. Highly recommend. Ballast Point is right by Miramar air base and is equally awesome, but if the weather is good for outside (when isn't it, it's San Diego), go to Stone.
They also have one in Liberty Station within SD itself. Good food and beer.
That said, Stone is kind of on my no-buy list now because of their penchant for suing smaller breweries using anything remotely resembling the word “stone” as part of their broader strategy in their lawsuit against MillerCoors (Keystone).
I’d say check out Pure Project or North Park over Stone.
If your staying in La Jolla I would head south 2 miles to Pacific Beach. Great bars, decent food and a very casual and typical San Diego beach scene
Rising Star
Agreed! Pacific Beach is super-chill with great hangout spots. If you like burgers, head to Hodad’s for a burger and a beer and great people-watching. People are super-friendly and it’s easy to strike up conversations. There are also a few spots in PB with great rooftops & patios.
Blacks beach
Looks like they are away, but for future reference a Padres game is fun. They have a cool stadium with a few breweries.

Beaches and outdoorsy places: La Jolla Cove, Balboa Park, Torrey Pines State Park, Coronado Island
Nightlife: Gaslamp as mentioned earlier
If your team has dinners planned and things to do after work and you don’t show it’s really not a good look just FYI. I learned this the hard way
