Hi All, My sister has done Computer Science engineering Bachelor degree and has 5 years of work experience in India. She is applying for MBA at https://www.kenan-flagler.unc.edu/programs/mba/full-time-mba/ and https://kelley.iu.edu/programs/full-time-mba/academics/majors-minors/marketing.html. Her overall goal is to get into Software Product management. Any suggestions if any of these MBA’s can open path in the desired space or if she is better of doing an MS in Comp engg. to further develop deeper Technology skills. Thanks

Enjoy it. You’re going to miss being bored eventually when you’re on a high burn projects
You’ll wish for these days soon
We all get sold on having these deep intellectually challenging jobs and then we’re asked to align circles and squares in PPT for the first 2 years. Welcome to consulting.

Don’t worry, if you put ten years of hard work in, you’ll still edit power points all day

Yeah, but you can do pursuits or initiatives to spice things up. Or ask for more challenging work
PowerPoint and excel (plus meeting notes) will be your life at all firms early on. Maybe you can get lucky and land an interesting project that has more client interviews and research next time.
Slow down turbo, nobody jumps from their masters straight into the fun stuff, not just in consulting, but in any industry.
Earn your keep, show your not incompetent and then the intellectually engaging stuff will follow.
NB: also asking for side of desk stuff and other initiatives allows you to choose the work you do and pursue other verticles within the business. Just like D 2 said.

Not to be repetitive but… echo sentiments above. Not long from now you will be getting slammed and reminiscing on the slower days. It picks up, fast. Just wait
It's what you make of it
Use that 'fancy degree' to learn the content, context and value of everything you're editing, and you'll soon not be doing PowerPoints
You're doing PowerPoints to learn until you have more value to add and because you're cheap.
Either change the cheap part or the value add part
These other ppl saying you’ll wish for that work soon enough are right…you WILL wish for it soon enough.
Just wait
Same man, I was a PM in industry and they had me doing QA work when I first started. I’d always ask for more work to get more exposure, ended up getting me great performance ratings. I got out of that into what I wanted to do by networking.
We all do some of that regardless of level, but our consultants do real work from day one. Lots of challenging projects helping companies go public and grow quickly!
You get it starting day 1 at L.E.K.
What role is this? Sounds nice
