Say you’re offered a job that pays $325K, and you can work anywhere within the U.S. (remote job & team with occasional travel to meet team). Where would you live and why? Obviously “it depends” just curious to see the range of responses from this group!

Miami/Fort Lauderdale area. Great weather, (relatively) low property prices, major airports and no state income tax.

likesmart

Miami is too corrupt and overpriced. Besides the beach, there isn't much to do to enjoy nature with the lack of parks. And the beach is to be avoided at all costs during major holidays/spring break anyway.

Houston, TX - cheap, freakin amazing food, accessible to the whole country - direct flights coz United hub.

Pros - driver’s paradise - love doing 80 on 65, no harsh winters - only fake winters

Cons - it’s TX, hot af, agression on the road is real

I am in that situation, not money wise, but my job is completely remote and since I work in consulting, I get to travel and can practically live anywhere in the country. I would always choose Orange County. Posh county, so close to LA , San Diego and Vegas, no homeless population, great hikes and beaches.

Hi All,

Is $75kpa enough for two in USA, Georgia, Duluth?

I think post tax deductions I should get around 4.5k per month.

Please advice.

Current CTC is 14.2lpa.
However I have a 9 yoe and current stack is GCP, Python,Airflow etc for data engineer.
If i switch chances are I can get a 20lpa+.

My wife is not working and we plan to have a baby next year.

Please advice.

I have been a PM at my company for 2 years now, with a years prior experience as associate PM. I got promoted before my certification, but was told if I did not get a PMP or ACP I would get my promotion taken away.
Received the ACP and have not seen a raise. Now we have a girl that is getting a 15k raise and going straight from Project coordinator to PM (with one year experience) and no certification. She will now be 5k less than me. If she gets CaPM she gets a 5k raise. Wong to feel slighted?

Inspired by one of my kids' favorite books, I penned this masterpiece of an Ode to Consulting:

One senior partner all alone
Calls two managing directors on the phone
Three associate partners at the door
Bring along another four
Five senior managers come overdressed
Six managers show up with a guest
Seven senior consultants arrive in a sack
Eight associates sneak in the back
Nine analysts come to work
ALL THE CONSULTANTS GO BERSERK!!!

Ok, I'll show myself out now... 😂
