I have been a CCA medical coder for my hospital in Oregon for 8.5 years. I have been only been doing outpatient simple visit coding and my supervisors have basically stopped me and another coworker from advancing. We don't have any room for advancement and we are basically stuck.

I recently asked for a raise as looking up medical assistant and years of experience in my area and found that I am not at market value for my position and 12 years of experience. I deal with a team that I ask for help to show me how to do something after requesting a task to be done. I am happy to work on the task and learn. All they do is make sure to cover their butt by making an e-mail trail showing the bare minimum of information and expect me to get a task done. After, I tell them I need you to show me how to get the task done and shadow me in order for me to get the task done 15-20min.
