Settle a debate for my friend and I: does your firm (MBB, Tier 2, Big 4 etc etc) drug test new hires for non-federal roles?

Smoke all the weed you want

Firm did not, but two of my clients so far required it.

No, only specific clients drug test

No.
Also *my friend and me

I’ve seen that some people do put the asterisk at the beginning of what they are correcting, in this case the phrase, while others put it at the end.
If there’s a universal rule, let me know

Lol no. If they did, no one would be able to work.

likefunny

No.

If a client drug tests, HR will pre-emptively ask to let you opt out of the client and go somewhere where they don't drug test instead.

like

Never heard of a colleague getting a drug test. Did hear a partner shake his head over an associate saying he was good only to fail. I think most partners get it and so does HR esp. when you’re honest about I’d not pass a piss test for pot

Looks like I won the debate

funny

go ahead and spark one to celebrate, won’t affect your job prospects lol

likefunny

Nope, and wouldn’t work for a client that does. I don’t do drugs either lol

like

Nope

OW does not

Nothing when ypu join but some clients request drug test. Don't over smoke that joint.

No, but I am sure we all have clauses in there that they can for reasonable (or even unreasonable) cause if they ever want to.

Second that some clients request it.

Only have seen it for specific clients

Nope

No, but I’ve been tested at least once per year due to multiple clients

No

No

No, unless they want to staff you on a client who drug tests as soon as you're hired.

No

No, and you can have some convos to not go to a client that does drug test

It’s now been about a month since I cold applied to all big 4 firms for upcoming winter internships. I’ve tried reaching out to some of the recruiters in the area I applied for but no response. Is this white flag territory or is there still hope? And if it’s the ladder is there anything I can do to speed up the process or is it just a waiting game.

Looking for a Christmas present for my girlfriend. Would like to stay under $250 (I’m a 1st year staff shes in grad school so don’t have much money). She likes gold — I’m thinking of getting her a necklace, which I believe I can only get gold plated in my price range. Does anyone have any suggestions of good brands to buy? First time looking at jewelry websites and they seem kinda gimmicky and would like one I can trust and get good quality. Thank you!

I just recently worked 58.6 hours in a week, weekly pay, nice OT profit right? Depends on where you live.

In Iowa, there is no Overtime pay mandate, the overtime pay is at the discretion of the business. I received 58.6 hours of base pay for the week.

If the company makes less than $1 million per year or does not engage in intercontinental sales, the company is not required to pay the overtime rate of time and a half, just your base rate.

Are there even any FDD type jobs in Pittsburgh? Been hard pressed trying to find.

I’m in FDD… I know I signed up for this but there’s something about the anxiety that comes on a Friday knowing that we still didn’t get access to VDR .. and how that anxiety grows as you enter the long weekend knowing that access can happen at any minute (or not) and you have to tippy-toe on the idea of potentially cancelling on your memorial weekend plans. I have an interview tomorrow with a recruiter who contacted me through LinkedIn. I believe I am way under-qualified for the position and I pointed that out to her, but she responded with several points from my resume as to why she believes the role is a good fit with my experience. It would be a leap, but maybe I need to take it as a challenge and not limit myself? I just don’t want to get in over my head and fall flat on my face. What are some questions I could ask during the first interview?
