I joined KGS in feb 2022, we recently got a mail regarding timeline of appraisal and bonus payout from the partner. My reporting manager hasn't yet reached out to me regarding goal setting, not sure if that happens here. Can you pls help me to know what all things we need to do from our end for the appraisal cycle and bonus payout? Since I'm new to this company KPMG KPMG India

I jumped from a top 15 firm to PWC. Absolutely worth it. Even if same salary I’m sure you have much better comp opportunity through bonus and incentives. Environment and culture were 10x better.
No do NOT take that. Especially dropping a level. You’ll find yourself taking a HUGE step back in your career. In this market you want a raise, a bonus, and bump UP a level. Don’t settle for less.
PLEASE don’t listen to this. People are forgetting that if you drop a level you will get a promotion bonus when you get promoted ON TOP OF A REGULAR BONUS as long as you are there for I think over 6 months or something. I literally did the same thing and made so much more through that. And then when I decided to leave, I got a great bump to go back to midsize. Do I have friends that are making more by sticking at the midsize firm, yes, but not many and they also don’t have the strong resume I have now.
Both financially and experience wise, I found it worthwhile as at manager they expect you to function. I knew nothing about their systems and how they handle that level of clients so even if I got a manager role, it would have been tough to succeed.

Big 4 is such a myth! The ultimate goal is to make more money and enjoy a better quality of life. you will have no life if you work as a senior ad they are typically the ones have most of the workload. Well, unless you are a work bitch ! Lol
sounds like a terrible idea. keep looking.
I’ll make a suggestion go big four but go into a service line that’s known for having a good WLB or is just slightly different than what you’ve been doing.
As someone who hopped around small to midsize firms , I’m personally happier at the Big Four. To be fair that could be because I’m with solid people in this new group. I was borderline miserable and made to feel so useless at other firms.
Nothing is wrong with mid tier or smaller firms. But speaking generally…. Most people at big4 make more than their peers at the same level at smaller firms. Obviously a few individuals may make more, and if you leave from big4 the smaller firm will offer more to steal you but the progression won’t keep up at the same pace as big4. And having friends who moved to industry, many of the large corporations in their finance and accounting departments are full of ex big4 folks. There are obviously drawbacks to big4 tho, it’s not all rainbows and unicorns
