Enjoy your birthday with your sister. This friend will understand if he's a real one.
That feels like the right thing to do
This ultimately depends on your trip itinerary and how jammed packed it is. I don't see why you cant grab drinks somewhere close by (e.g. hotel bar) for an hour.
However...anything you plan with this friend should not be considered or equate to a date - you're there with your sister.
Be upfront with them, if they're interested at all they'll take whatever you can squeeze in or try to make future plans.
I wanna enjoy this trip with my sister but also wanna see where this goes he is a friend of mine for years that just showed interest . I was supposed to been go out there prior to him expressing this . I feel bad I don't wanna leave her alone to go on a date . Part of me wants to make another solo trip after the sister trip
Ooof I would just spend time with your sister and keep restating your boundaries. If you don't want to spend time alone with the friend then don't, and don't feel bad about that.
The thing is I do . I wanna spend time with both . Like I wanna do this trip with my sister . Originally I was gnna go by myself but our bdays are coming up (twins) so we decided let's just go together . But this friend also expressed interest and I kinda wanna see where it goes . He is kind of gnna be our tour guide once we're there . But he did express like he does want tht opportunity while im out there as well I'm sure he is ok with the fact my sister is there I told him it was gnna be both of us and he was super cool . Like taking us around town be he does want a moment for me and him . As if anything were to happen between us it would be long distance
Go, have your sister's trip and see if you're interested in moving there. The friend is nice, but it could influence your choices and experiences to start something big. I agree with the above comment, a drink or two alone is fine, but I wouldn't call it a date. Especially if you're not moving immediately. Keep the friendship drama free, you may need it once you move. Make sure the interest you both have extends to something worth it before you mix things up. No need to rush with friends first to me.
