So it’s been 6 months of unsuccessfully being able to pivot externally to Product Manager. I have seen I can secure interviews for Technical Account Manager, however, would this be a possible pivot if I get an offer? My thought process is I could learn the product and customer and internally move to PM after a couple of years.

I believe everything is a possible pivot. When you are being interviewed, you need to interview the company as well. What will your growth opportunities look like within the company? Are you limited to a TAM position, is the standardized path to be a Senior, or can they share examples of crossing over to other departments. If they ask what your goal is for the next X years, be sure to tell them you are interested in PM and for what specific reasons. If you get the TAM job, you’ve planted the seed of interest of wanting PM responsibilities.

They stated if I give them 2 years as a TAM I can pivot to whichever role I’d like. They have great Glassdoor reviews but not on Indeed. My final interview will be coming up in a week or so but I just wanted to ask here for some advice.

Six months is not a lot on grand scheme of things. A year, 18 months is more reasonable imo. It took me a year to break into tech and another few years to land a job I wanted. TAM > PM is a doable route.

I went through two rounds of interviews for
a job that the posting stated $36.66 per
hour (FP&A Analyst)…the company
recruiter had told me in the initial call the
pay could be 32-36 because of the other
benefits. If I do get a job offer what range
should I try for? I was really hoping to get
around the 36-40 but now I feel like they
may try to offer lower than what was
posted. Also there was no range but the
average for this position is upper 70s-90k.
Thanks for any help!

Mid-level associate at a mid-size regional insurance defense firm practicing coverage litigation. Salary is capped b/c my firm only does I.D./coverage and has no direct-hire comm clients. Second round of interviews with a comm lit boutique where I would be the only associate with 5 partners. Other than partner track, salary/benefits, and switching from coverage to general comm lit, what qualities of the move should I be thinking about as I weigh my options? I've never worked at another firm.

I’m really annoyed and tired. Thoughts?

In light of crime trends, pandemic, work-life priorities, I'm trying to assess if taking a hybrid NYC job (as someone working remotely from NJ now) is worth the headache. I was recently offered a Zoom interview. The school had 10 interview slots for me to choose from. Three were one day this week and the rest are next week. I chose the first time slot available. Should I have waited until one of the last slots so I was fresher on their mind when choosing a candidate? I am just sitting here stressing out until I here something. Also, do interviewers still appreciate a hand written thank you for the interview?

How do you motivate yourself to stay in public accounting (B4)?

Art Director.
Sr. Art Director.
Art Supervisor.
Group Art Supervisor.
VP, Group Art Supervisor.
VP, Associate Creative Director.
VP, Creative Director.
SVP, Creative Director.
SVP, Group Creative Director.
EVP, Group Creative Director.
EVP, Executive Creative Director.

Seriously: why so many levels? Sounds like a lot of BS… basically should be: Art Director, Creative Director, CCO. Agree?
