AWS cloud application architect. Had an on-site interview with AWS a few days ago and just got an email saying they want to talk to me about next steps. The role is cloud application architect but I want to ask them about the senior cloud application architect role. I have all the relevant experience for that role and feel like I’d be a better fit for that senior role. How should I approach this conversation? Is this even possible? Amazon

What if Fishbowl implemented Blockchain ???
New to Fishbowl?
unlock all discussions on Fishbowl.

@PwC It was all over Fishbowl. Your FS practice from what I read. @D6 There is no "purge". I'm annoyed you would even use that word. Way to cause mass hysteria without any evidence. Turnover is natural. Everyone who is average to exceptional can get a 3. I'd be surprised if a 4-5 maintains a career at the firm.
So I just spent some time chatting with one of the PPDs in our office about reductions. Here's what I know. It was completely performance based - voluntary attrition is super low right now and we're long in staff so they trimmed the fat. Cuts were made at all levels, but reduction at the BA/C level is essentially done. Might be a little more movement at the M/SM level in the next weeks but it's pretty much over. Overall, it was a cut of around 3-4%, and it not impacting any of our recruiting or hiring.
Everyone keeps asking i feel it must be true
Where is the purge happening, at what levels, and to what extent? List offices and levels of you know of it
Performance reviews aren't even started
Define below par? 3?
Don't know for sure but I would def say 4...not 3...like a BA missing promotion twice or an SM missing sales targets multiple years
On a PIP would be an obvious one.
@Deloitte 3 I haven't heard anything about PwC layoffs...
I'm in tech. We've not seen/heard of any of this layoffs discussion beyond fishbowl
On advisory side, we are looking to expand a lot this year. No layoffs but agreed with @d11 about performance "transitions"
@D13 is the cut done or are they still slashing. What is going on?
I've heard of S&O Cs and SCs from the larger offices. My guess is low utilization first
Ya know I was at a talk a few weeks ago where a PPD was chiding us all for being way too anxious and paranoid. He's so right. So what if layoffs are coming? The metric year ended, so what are you going to do about it now? Have a drink and chill. The whole big dark secret to Deloitte is this: network your butt off and do good work. It is actually that simple. Have a drink, chill out. Nothing you can do about it now.
@D1 so yore saying more people are gonna get fired after this week's round of firing?
I heard there might be more in ott
To those laid off, did you see it coming? Is it only due to PE ratings? I know of people who were great who left.
The 2 BAs cut from my team this week said they did not see t coming
What offices are they from
NY
^so it already happened?
Yes, this week, between Tuesday and Thursday. Mainly in NY, LA, Chicago and Boston offices...
