I recently “came out” at my ad agency and listed my pronouns as they/them on zoom and in my email signature. I’m not expecting perfection at all and I’ve posted in Teams with helpful articles, offering to chat if people have questions.

But still, 95% of the company refuses to even address me by my pronouns, remotely try, or ask anything.

The agency itself is led by older conservative men, but I guess I expected at least some effort from younger employees.

What should I do?

Tips on Zoom interviews? What’s the best way to come across engaged? For cases, do you show your notes/structure, or do you just have to be more articulate and make sure the interviewer is following along with words only?

Do you keep your camera on or off for Zoom meetings, when you have the choice?

How do you deal with a manager who always blame you for actions that the manager instructed me to do in the past? E.g. manager reviews client decks with you and instructs to just note a strict budget to report. After a week, manager rereads the same deck and blames me for not supporting the budget that was added per the manager’s request. We always have this situation, no matter how much I ask for clarity in any internal reviews. I even sent back the emails and slack chats as an attachment.

Back in 2018, my boss took me to my first strip club against my will. It was my last day as an intern, so our team went out for drinks after work. We drank at a couple places. Afterwards, my boss had to drive me back to my car, which was at the first place we drank at. But while he had me in the moving car, he got the idea to drive to a strip club instead.
