Sometimes it’s like pulling teeth trying to get the correct information out of a client. We constantly get flagged for wrong work on one of our projects but they keep coming back with flags we’ve not heard of! How do you deal with clients who won’t tell you all the information you need to have?

Thankfully, I'm no longer the one tasked with this, but I remember when I had to be the one gathering info, I would just be a pest and keep asking. It got to a point where I knew it would be flagged, so I just put in the extra effort then and there to get the info. Sometimes there's nothing else you can do but be annoyingly persistent.

Yeah annoyingly persistent is how I’d put it. It feels like no matter how many times I say something it’ll never go in.

If you know a client is like this, you've got to try to nip it in the bud early. Get an incredibly detailed plan in front of them at the outset, make sure they read, understand, and sign off on it, and then cite it if/when they come back with complaints. No one has the time to hassle with reworking that could've easily been avoided.

It’s hard since we don’t deal with them directly often so we have to hear about it through other departments. Having a middle man makes it all more annoying.

Ha! I know this all too well. What I learned is you need to ask everything about the job from the client up front, honestly treat them like a child. They’ll be thankful you asked the silly questions up front rather than mess up and you get the blame for it.

My company is in need of a update online, could use your opinions! We need to better showcase our culture (caring, supportive, fun, intelligent IT industry leaders) as well as diversity. We are predominantly white still but making strides to improve here. What’s the best way to approach? I don’t want to seem disingenuous or that we are singling out our diverse employees (asking for photos). We have a remote and on-site workforce about 350+ EEs. Non white EEs make up about 35% of the company rn.

This is my first job in a large corporate company, and I’m trying to gauge how long it normally takes to move from entry level to another internal position in the insurance industry. I have been applying internally for a year now and I am wondering if this is normal or if my company is just slow? I am a top performer, with great metrics, and I have some wonderful connections I’ve made who support me. I just can’t seem to move up. How long did it take you to move up? How many tries did it take?

So I've been at my job for 5+ years as a data analyst/back office support team. I made my way up into making a little over $40k. I've been WFH the past 2 yrs and overtime more than half my team has now been pulled out to work for a diff department which resulted in me taking 90% of our daily tasks to handle. I'm at a point where the salary I'm getting is disrespectfully low for all the work I do. Should I ask for a raise? And if so, how do I go about asking without sounding greedy.

How does underwriting compare to PIP litigation in terms of flex time (ability to stop/start work throughout day, work at 2 am if needed, etc)

For example.. in PIP Litigation I can review my suits at 2 am if needed (as a result of having a rough day or other emergency) and still be in compliance

Does Underwriting carry any time sensitive tasks?
