Hi! I just accepted a Relationship Banker II role in Allen, TX. My offer letter was 50k base and 1k guaranteed commission a month first year. I just graduated w a degree in Business Administration. Basically the info I got on how commission works was pretty vague. Anyway I wanted to see what someone I’m their 1st or 2nd year can realistically expect to on average make in commission a year in this role. Also what do bonuses in the role look like? As someone that started in performance media, that’s very unrealistic to be expected to master such a technical corner of the industry in that time. Def ask for measurable goals to work towards. “Mastering” is vague and unfair to you
Ask for more finite goals and be detailed. Get a gauge by asking what they expect of an associate, senior associate and manager.
Every passing day makes it clear I need to leave. I’m OP, just updated my title here. I was hired to lead strategy and instead I’m being forced to micro manage my team and check in on pacing once an hour. Thank you to everyone who responded about getting clear goals.
