Hello everyone
My doj in tcs is in Jan and i am having 4 yrs of gap which i already discussed with hr before getting offer itself and also mentioned in application.

I mean you could be laying asphalt or roofing houses in the summer heat. I’m sure those folks are looking at you working in your comfy apartment and going “what is this person complaining about”?

Yeah, I’m not trying to judge. Just don’t like the idea that you can never ever invalidate someone’s feelings. I think that’s a faulty position to argue from.
To be honest, I completely agree that your partner’s flippant attitude is rude and uncalled for. I also think D1’s response was rude and unkind. I’m on your side. I simply don’t agree with the thing D2 posted, and I didn’t want to stay silent.
Stay strong OP, and good luck getting out there in your new city.
So interesting how some people seemed to get so offended that I asked a question as to whether this reaction was normal, and instead of offering anything useful, really tried to make fun of me for having a hard time in a new city and a new job during a pandemic, during which, arguably most people without the robust resources that most partners have are in fact struggling. What a fun thought experiment this was. Thanks to everyone who offered helpful and constructive input!
Aww.. he doesn’t understand how tough your life is. Waking up in the mornings, having to sit in an office chair and type. Your poor widdle fingers must get tired. On top of that, you probably have to slide that mouse around too!!! The nerve of them and their big house! Ugh.. can’t stand people that work hard and expect people to do the same! Just complete the amount of work you are able to each day. Don’t worry about it. I’m sure the partners don’t mind completing the rest. They want to make sure you don’t over exert yourself.

I think the answer to your question is that it is common. However it is not right.
Please don’t be bullied into not taking care of yourself. Seek help through the EAP program or other paths and if necessary/possible change your work environment.

Check into your company’s EAP resources. You should be able to speak how you feel to people who are in charge of you. Maybe take a few days off or an extended weekend to refresh

Hang in there OP. Seek out the EAP resources and/or a therapist. In general, your superiors aren't going to address your mental health issues at work, especially if you haven't developed rapport with them pre-pandemic where they notice a shift in your abilities.

It’s easier to go to a superior with a problem that you already have solutions for OP. Use the resources available to you and come back with a plan and suggestions on how your work life and ultimately output can be approved.
I’m in a similar boat but haven’t reached four to the partners. Instead I’ve been seeking out therapists who work with attorneys. I second using your firm’s EAP resources if they have them, if not definitely seek out a therapist!
