Starting cross-country weekly travel from ATL-LAX for the next few months, any recommendations and/or advice to stay sane for the duration of project?

On airplane: Audiobooks. Comfy pillow. Earplugs and/or noise canceling headphones. Eyemask, privacy screen for laptop

Pick an airline you will use consistently. If you don’t have status call and ask for a challenge.

Check out which lounges they have in both ends of your flight terminals. It may be worth investing in a card/lounge membership.

Select a hotel you use consistently. You can leave a bag at the bell desk of heavy/duplicate items. I leave my gym shoes and travel toiletries if duplicate items, second toothbrush, portable steam iron etc. I also have duplicate business shoes I leave.

Plan a flex trip a month. It’ll give you goals and will help you get something personally fulfilling out of having to do long term business travel.

If you don’t have a large team at client site, join a meetup or professional organization so you aren’t always by yourself. This would be a good time to reach out to old friends/acquaintances you’ve lost touch with.

Yoga helps tied having to sit in an airplane for over 6 hours.

Immediately change into comfortable clothes at the airport. Fuck the haters.

Hydrate. Invest in good moisturizer. Airplane air will dry you out.

Get the lightest luggage available. It’s not Tumi. Your back will thank you.

Find a place you want to go with the airlin, hote and car points you’ll have at the end of the year. Plan this trip - it will give you something to work toward so the travel doesn’t make you too bitter.

It’s really not that bad, especially since you’re going west. You can still leave Monday morning and get to head out pretty early on Thursday. I don’t think there’s much help needed to stay sane while you enjoy the weather in LA

Hey Fishes,
Been working at D India as a Manager (Not USI) for past few months.
Ask me anything as there are very few reviews available online.
To clear few misconceptions
1. Global projects are available here
2. They've started mentioning Bonus, Gratuity amount etc in offer letter
3. Work life balance depends on Project and managers you work with
4. Inside opportunities if you're the creamy layer
5. PF amount in offer letter is the total deduction and not just company's contri

I’ve been on the bench with J1 for about 3 months. I was worried that because I couldn’t find another project, I would get laid off so I found J2, which pays more, is very meeting heavy, but I really like. I’ve kept J1 because I’m still on the bench doing absolutely nothing and getting paid. Thinking about looking for a role on a project with J1 that’s not along my career path but will allow for me to do work with no calls so that I can manage both jobs. Does anyone have experience or advice?
