I know several very good healthcare consultants that were laids off from IBM along with thousands of others GBS practitioners within the last year.

Net: I would not be looking to start a consulting career with IBM.

..managerial consultant role. Not sure if I should start a career with an external consulting firm (b/c of training, exposure, etc) also would I be putting myself in a box starting with an internal consulting firm like KP so early on my career?

As an IBMer, I have had a great career here so far, but we had massive layoffs this year, and although mood is low here, it is getting better. New consultants here (right out of college) have a mixed experience here. Some have a great time and embrace the opportunities, others feels they don’t get the opportunities, so it is tough for them

That being said - there are some great opportunities here and you can go far with the right amount of effort

Go to a consulting firm to build up your core consulting skills then go into industry. As a side note, I know people who have worked at KP (full time and on projects) and they did not enjoy their experience or client counterparts...

Healthcare corporations… please note you have more then 1 shift of workers. You have 3 most times, each shift has to be treated equally. This is and always have been an issue, and you cannot figure out why the other shifts refuse to be active and participate in anything and definitely not engaged anymore.

Serious question: Why’d we have to migrate our network logins to FCB Health in addition to our emails? Couldn’t we have just started listing our emails as “@fcbhealth” but logging in as “@FCB”?
Our old emails instantly forward to our current ones, so I don’t see why it couldn’t be the other way.

I joined Genpact 10 days ago and my Onboarding session is done but after that I didn't get any call from my supervisor or HR for the laptop delivery, shift timings nd all. When I am trying to connect with my HR and Supervisor through email, they are not replying and hiring manager is not picking up the call.

Is it normal, or any action in required from my side, or something need to be worried?
