It's been over 5 weeks since my final interview with Deloitte for M role. I've had a few email exchanges with the recruiter with a standard response that 'partners are reviewing their resource requirements and we will update you ASAP'. The recruiter always adds it was a positive interview.
I don't understand why it is taking so long to arrive at a decision? Is it normal at Deloitte UK?

Although Amazon has instituted a hiring freeze and layoffs are probably on their way, I went through the loop for a security engineer position at AWS. Before I attended the final interviews, Amazon placed the hiring freeze and called me to ask if I wanted to go ahead or cancel my application. I decided do go ahead Right now I'm waiting for their response and the position I applied to changed from "under consideration" to "no longer under consideration". Thoughts?
McKinsey & Company Hi everyone. Hope all is well.
Recently took the McKinsey & Company game (not sure if I have an interview yet but preparing nonetheless). It’s an entry level business analyst position and an entry level digital position and was wondering if anyone wanted to case prep with me. I’m willing to work on anyones time zone. (I’m located in Sydney, Australia).

I am a senior manager now, and like you was approached by a OW recruiter. However unlike you I was an SA at the time. My assessment was that time to make it to director would be longer at OW and the salary was lower too.
If you are an Associate out of college, I would say just focus on the next 2-3 years. Do you want to be an SA with or without an MBA is a more imp question than being a SM here or at OW in my opinion
S& pays more afaik
Def S& for the pay

Oliver Wyman might give you better exit opps

Depends on what you like to do. We pay well and have interesting work (not saying OW doesn’t)
EUR is smaller practice and even if you don’t like the type of client there, you could try to switch from within.
Have the recruiter call. Build the connection. See what they have to say in general and about the path to SM. Having a contact at another firm never hurts.
Are you more big picture (s&) or more in the weeds (OW)?
