Suggestions on getting into a relationship

Spent whole life studying. Got into it, studied there as well. Got a good job, and now realised that forgot to work on social skills.
The scenario is that lack flirting skills now, and find it quite difficult to get into a relationship. Note that I'm funny, and have no problems in holding conversations with girls, just that I end up getting friendzoned most of the times.

What is the best way to attract a new mate? I got out of a 7 year relationship (he was cheating on me for half of it) and I’m so confused on where to even start. I have a therapist and working on my trust issues - but I have self confidence issues. I’ve been burned for being ‘unattractive’. But I’ve seen girls that are objectively more unattractive than me have mates. So it must be a confidence issue? Those girls seem to glow while I am so sad. Or it’s the guys I go on dates with?

I miss the times (circa 2006 - 2010)where it was quite normal to go out and meet girls and have them take you back home for the night. Such a great time to be alive. Now, everyone is so caught up with that digital app dating life and no one goes out anymore to meet people. So sad.
