Anyone seen the FT article on whistleblowers at the big 4 - pretty damning read and very focused on workplace sexual harassment and bullying:
Hello! HR Business Partner looking to pivot into Human Capital, any advice/best practices? I have almost seven years of experience, Masters in HRM,SHRM certified and previously worked at B4 firm.... No consulting experience so seeking advice on how to break into HC consulting. Thanks!
Who decides the compensation for big 4 experienced hires? Is it the interviewing partners?
I am getting a 50% base hike in one of the other big 4, and my organization (big 4) is planning to offer me the same package at the same level. I am a bit confused now.
What should I do if my start date is Monday and I haven't received my work laptop yet? I reached out to my recruiter Monday and never heard anything back. This is for a big 4 firm.
Those that exited to MBB from big 4, is it worth it? Thinking about the long hours and pressure
1. Do all partners at same level pull same base salary? (Think two 3rd year partners at the same firm, and exclude variable pay) 2. How does this base pay differ at big 4 vs MBB?
Tax associate here who is masochistic and thoroughly enjoys writing long-form opinions, writing memos, doing legal analysis and research, but hates deal work and churning out documents. Where is the best place for me? I assume DC boutique or national Big 4 would make sense. What about sophisticated T&E, in-house, other ideas, etc.?
Daughter is waking up at 2AM asking for yogurt often...do you guys give your kids food if they say they are hungry in the middle of the night? Also asking for milk/yogurt after we brush teeth b4 bed
Has anyone made the move from Big 4 to DHG? Care to share about the culture at DHG risk advisory practice?
Working as Consultant at Cognizant Business Consulting now, I am being offered a role of Senior Business Analyst as a contractor for 1yr, initially for 6 months in Deloitte IN. I am a bit skeptical with this Contractor thing. Can someone guide me please? They say I don't have prior Big 4 consulting experience and hence this role.
Currently a 2nd yr audit manager in Dallas, non B4, $110k/yr. Hours are not too bad, but can’t take any more fake and politics from upper management, and have no aspiration to be in leadership group.
Partners, at B4 I’ve heard that after 10 years you become fully vested in the partnership. What all does that mean with regards to shares / other benefits (vs. say a 9-year partner)? Thanks!
What would it take for a company to acquire a big 4 or MBB firm? For example would 50% of voting partners need to agree? Personal curiosity and not related to my employer 👀
Faang PGM role or M at B4 (digital)? Both salaries are around 200k TC. One concern is being pigeonholed by going the Program Management route, not sure which has the better trajectory/ career path.
FDD manager here making $150K. Do you think MBA is worth it? Potentially would like to make a jump to MBB consulting.

Deloitte How brutal was the Case Study interview and are there any lessons learned you could offer? Anything you wished you’d done to prepare for the interview? Was the case a completely random business case or was it specific to your role? How does the interviewer respond post your recommendation delivery? Has anyone ever failed a case interview out right and if so, what did you do wrong? Was math included and did they allow calculators?
For Canadians / Mexicans - can we get FP&A or FDD jobs with TN accounting visa? For context I am in FAAS and I got this with the TN, wondering if I can move to industry with a TN
Over 40s: Do you spend your days consumed by anxiety that you'll get laid off and never work again?
If anyone is looking at specific roles at Amazon and would like to know more about the hiring team, DM me and I’ll look it up internally / refer you if there’s a fit!
Can anyone who got a full-time remote offer with better pay from overseas firms share his/her experience?
Is anyone else still unemployed since March/April layoffs or am I the last one? I’ve officially lost hope. Any careers that EA skills are easily transferable to? I have 10 years experience and am in a major metropolitan area. I’m looking for remote positions for obvious reasons, which I think is further impeding my success of landing something.
Left consulting for medical school a year ago and popping in cuz fb said they'd deactivate my account. How's it going, y'all?
Is anyone else getting depressed from everything going on? I’ve barely done anything all day except read coronavirus articles and now I just want to take a nap and not wake up until this is over
Do you like being on retainer or more project based contracting? I'm in a good place financially being on retainer but I want to be pushed more creatively as a personal objective because I feel I'm not getting it at my current contracting agency. That would mean revising or going off retainer to open up more working hours for unknown possibilities. Open to hear your thoughts, life experience, and opinions. Thanks Creatives!
Decided to accept PwC FDD offer as senior associate. Does FDD has similar independence rule as Audit? as long as we dont work on deals related to certain corporate client we can own their stocks? (have a bunch of tesla shares and doesn’t want to sell)
How good is your firm at helping you to acquire new technical skills and business knowledge? I am at a big four, and there is 0 appropriate technical training. I have to pick up stuff on the go and honestly feel like an amateur, just pulling solutions out of my ass..I hate to look back and realize how I could’ve produced better quality work. Is MBB like that, as well? Also, most managers and higher are so abstracted from tech that I don’t even know a single good expert to ask for advice
Advice please! I'm scheduled to roll off my current (surge) project at the end of this month. The project is heavy in manual government processes, but my manager is offering to let me lead a workstream because our scope has grown so much and the client needs our help. However, there's another big, super relevant project where I'd get project experience doing analytics, but I likely wouldn't get ownership over anything. Do I extend my current project or try to roll onto the new one?
I have an engineering director interview at tier 2 tech company on Friday. I spoke to hiring manager last week and they said I would interview with an IC to work on a problem but I won’t have to write code. Does anyone have an idea what sort of thing I may be asked? Sass company
For each MBB, what's the grad school sponsorship policy for junior who join as experienced hires? Are you still eligible and if so, how long until you can be sponsored (and is thus measured up to enrolment or application time?). Thanks!
