Hi! Can someone recommend a source for learning how do simple, fun music lessons on Zoom? I teach first grade and use music for my transitions. I would also like to play songs for them with my guitar, but am concerned it won’t sound good on zoom (the guitar, not my voice, which is bad, we established that long ago)

Hi 👋🏻 I have five years work experience, 2 are in consulting at EY London and I really want to move to the UAE (I speak Arabic fluently) would appreciate it if anyone can send a referral (happy to give you free Arabic lessons 😂)

Thoughts on the drive to Santa Fe/Taos? I know the flights are quick, but my kids really want to go on a road trip and have been asking to take ski lessons so I figure it would cover both.

I am a middle school social studies teacher and my husband is a high school art teacher. He has been an art teacher for a very long time and he’s not super proficient with Google classroom but I am. I have been helping him with lesson online resources & creating hyper docs for the lessons. He is struggling with the students not having a lot of supplies at home and how to have them create multiple day art pieces. he teaches at a low income area, how is everyone handling supplies to students?

Monday Morning rumination: unsolicited advise is criticism.

Much to reflect on with this topic. Last week I was told in a 1:1 with a new contact that I was “too direct”. After some time chewing on the conversation I was struggling to place the emotions I was feeling. Turns out I was feeling guilty and shame for being me, for taking up space. Lesson of the week: unsolicited advice is a criticism of you, a micro aggression of who you are, and being “too much”. What would you do??

Would love to hear your negotiation wins and fails, and lessons learned. One of my learnings is simply to ask. If you don't ask the answer is definitely no. My example was asking for additional equity. I got back a no, but was offered a signing bonus.

At the beginning of the school year try these three questions to give yourself a bit of information to start each foundation with.
1. Who was your favorite teacher and why? Also who was the teacher that had the biggest impact on you? (Share this with the teacher if you can)2. What was your favorite project or lesson you’ve done up to this point, and what made it stand out? 3. Can you give me 2 songs; A. The one that last played on your cellphone playlist. B. One of your all time favorite songs

For anyone in this bowl. How crucial is it for you to have a formal dining room separated from the kitchen? My son and daughter-in-law are buying a house for their future family and I'm trying to convince them a formal dining room looks better and makes things less chaotic in the kitchen, especially with kids. Am I out of touch? Or is it still important?

As a junior I find the hardest part of my job is scheduling blocks of time to do the work while also dealing with urgent things that always come up during the day. And the constant inflow of tasks from partners with priorities. It’s soooo exhausting. I kind of wish I had a secretary sort out all competing task deadlines between partners and “urgent” tasks and just schedule it on my calendar. Kind of like a family physician would have. I just want to do the work. How can I make this easier?
