It is usually sourced where you are physically sitting and working.
Worked in ct half the year - what’s confusing is NJ wants to tax me on all income then offer a tax credit for tax paid to other states - then ct wants to do the same thing - so It seems like I report all income on NJ and be taxed on it then report 1/2 year income on CT then take the offsetting tax credit for amount paid to NJ?
If you are a part year for both, that makes sense on how each are calculating it.
Did you work in ct at all?
Look up schedule CT-1040AW and schedule CT-SI. Those schedules are required for NR/PR and help you determine what to allocate from fed to CT
NJ is asking me if I had income from NJ sources while a non resident - so I’m not sure if my income is “sourced” from my home office or where I work
When you where working physically in ct, then that is ct sourced.
