Look for a new job without quitting. But if this is making you ill quit now if you can afford it.
I am so sorry. Unemployment money should help while you look for another job. All law firms are not like that, look for remote positions if you can. It cuts out the office drama.
Wait until he fires you so you can collect unemployment. Until then, start sending out your resume!
Yup, then file an EEOC complaint for harassment, intimidation, retaliation and possibly discrimination. Definitely compile and save all of your evidence to use as exhibits.
You can file the complaint yourself online. Also check with the Dept. of Labor for your state. Each state usually has its own separate labor & employment regulatory agency, file a complaint there too (in addition to the EEOC Complaint)
Good luck!
Contradictory. I cannot say anything to a caller or send emails/letters that are not scripted by the attorney. He will send an email and I have to call the client with the information he has provided. I cannot add words or "chit chat". He will.losten to the call and then yell at me for being too blunt. His email was blunt. I cannot be the voice of the office and greet people they way I was hired to with his micrmanaging. I am wondering if he has been trying to get rid of me since my first week. I have only been here for 3 months. I have a degree in Paralegal, but chose to be a stay at home mom after I got it. That was 20 years ago. I am relearning everything. He has gotten angry with me for not understanding cases that I cam in on the end of and that I am excluded from all emails regarding. He hates my clothes (client compliment me constantly). He is accusing me of lying and making things up. Neither of which has happened. I dont know if I should let him win and quit so that I can devote more time to finding something else and interviewing and so I can get healthy again or if I should just keep at it because a paycheck is a paycheck. He told.me last Friday that it didnt work out (and called it giving me an opportunity to quit) but he didnt ask for the key back and sent me work to do on Monday (like I was expected to be in the office). He is getting worse every day and Im not sure how much more I can take before I need therapy
I agree. Look for work as you work but IF you are able to afford it get out of their now. Your health is not worth it. Evil begets evil and eventually it will fall. What a man sows that he will reap. I call it the Boomerang effect.
