How can anyone in their right mind think that hundreds of thousands of deaths plus a completely oversaturated healthcare system would not have an effect on the economy?

Also M1, we will take the hit at some point, both economically and deaths. Unemployment will lead to deaths as well eventually, not to mention mental health issues, malnutrition, crime, homelessness...the list goes on

Got an email from the California Bar today about withdrawing due to COVID. I got sick for a week with the non-COVID flu and have been considering withdrawing and taking the July exam instead, so I guess I’m not alone. Is anybody on here who either withdrew or is considering withdrawing from the Feb bar because of illness?

I quit drinking at the first of the year because I was drinking too much as a way to cope with Covid. 99.9% of the time, I’m glad I quit drinking. And then there are those nights when I just want a glass of something to take the edge off, which makes me think alcohol was more of a coping mechanism than I thought and it’s probably a good thing I’m not drinking. I don’t even like wine very much, but I miss that low level buzz that makes everything a little less loud.

HR said it’s not a valid reason & I’ll lose my insurance at the end of the month if I take leave. They want me to use my 5 days of sick time & return to work after. I have an underlying autoimmune issue & need to save my sick days in case of a flare up. Ranting, but a reminder that companies don’t care about anyone

I have approached the company numerous times to bring in a cleaning crew and they expect us to do it. Despite the health concerns, they have ignored of my messages. Does anybody have any advice on how to move forward?

One year ago this weekend my mother was dying of Covid 2000 miles away from me. On Mother's Day we were told to make a decision to either consent to an invasive surgery that may do nothing or put her on hospice. She died on her own while my siblings and I tried to decide. I need to crawl into a cave this weekend until this holiday passes.

My pharmacy informed me that the insurance will not cover without authorization from the psych. My psych was wary about this & instead suggested Ritalin during my session. He mentioned that insurance companies want us to first try Ritalin because they are generally cheaper. How much truth is there to this? Thanks!

Like a lot of others, I’m underpaid. I’ve been with my company for 3 years having worked various roles and have been working as a researcher for a couple years now.

Our org is restructuring and part of that is salaries are being reviewed and adjusted.

What are the chances I get the adjustment I deserve? They will need to bump me up 35%. Am I being foolish or do I need to look elsewhere?

Looking for some advice on a couple of offers I have.

The first offer is for an Account Executive position at a smaller company with a base of $50k and another $20k in OTE.

The second offer is for a BDR position at a larger and faster growing company with a base of $60k and another $20k in OTE. Also some stock options but they aren’t public yet.

I have 2 YOE as a BDR and think I could succeed in either position. Both have hybrid work set ups. Any thoughts or advice is appreciated! Thanks.
