I’ve worked at AT&T as a sales consultant for 6 years and 8 months where we prospect, uncover, and close on leads. I’ve used Salesforce for the past 4 years during my tenure. I’ve done B2B sales where I’ve received awards for it for 2 years consecutively. Loads of troubleshooting, uncovering needs through consultative styled selling, and tech app subscriptions.
I was wondering if I have the necessary skills to transition into a tech sales role. If so, what would be the best role/fit for me?Amazon Salesforce Google @

No man. I believe they really mean it. And I must be really good but I'm out of luck because all of the 24 recruiters I'd talked last year said about he same thing
Tbwa man you are really good recognizing sarcasm. You should add that on your cv
But seriously now i got 4 or 5 very similar emails last year after rounds of interviews
Thanks, I will put it on page 5. 😁 Calm down, it's Friday. You will eventually get hired. Hopefully...
It's being nice. They found someone better or cheaper. Rarely they will disclose what the real reason to candidates because it can sometimes come off subjective. But do check in from time to time if they don't reach out to you.
What is up with phone screenings? They’re so random
If it’s a lead role for a specific client, they often mean it. (1) The Scope Hole Filler - Sometimes, unhappy clients point out they’re paying for someone you don’t have. Important clients demand a specific skill set/experience level/category experience. One client even gave us a bullet list. (2) The Client Tamer - can’t tell you how many talented CDs we passed on because we didn’t believe they had the personality or experience to go toe-to toe-with our Ivy League MBA’d client. Sometimes you just need a CD they’d respect, because he/she made that amazing Nike work 15 years ago that the client won’t STFU about. (for example). 3) The Diversity Ultimatum Hire - http://www.adweek.com/brand-marketing/one-year-after-calling-on-agency-partners-to-be-more-diverse-verizon-cmo-shares-the-results/
This happened to me and then they changed their minds....the waiting game/ getting yanked around sucks.
I got that and then called in to interview for another team a couple weeks later. Got the job. Not always hot air.
BS
Nice if them to say but move on.
24! Are you just applying to the wrong jobs? Were these 2nd interviews or just phone screens? Typically the recruiter wouldn't call back and just leave you hanging after phone screen or just say it didn't pass through... I always get they found someone more qualified or cheaper.
I think they mean it. That happened to me at a shop and they ended up reaching out for another role that I ultimately got a few months later. Why would they say it if they didn’t mean it?? They can just say thanks and no thanks, IMO.
It means they liked you but your experience/qualifications are not matching up to what they're looking for and they're not burning a bridge for the future. It's a standard sign-off , don't overthink it. Write something nice back and move on.
Everybody liked you except the decision maker so they had to pass.
This is pretty much a templated email they may or may not like you. But the recruiter usually doesn't get a straight feedback from whoever made the decision and they dont care. Also they will never say they didn't like you no matter how terrible you are.
In my experience, and at times my agency, I’ve found the hiring manager is looking for talent that’s more senior than what they can afford. So even when you’re great, they won’t take you because your rate can prevent you from acceleration if they haven’t built up scopes and planned to place the talent the account needs against the talent they can afford.
It honestly depends. Not a recruiter but I’ve said it and saved resumes for when a more appropriate position opened up. Usually the person was too junior for the role.

Beleive it. I was passed for one roll at my current agency, and 4 months later they reached out again with a higher paying job and title bump position!
