I really think that the insurance policy given by mediassist is way more expensive for parental insurance, means who will pay for 50k+ premium and that too for large copay, I guess the leadership team should intervene here....Parental insurance is really important for any employee and most of the time is only needed.
Recently I used parental insurance and found that the insurance company only paid for 50% of the total bill.

Email their GM - jeff.charlton@westin.com
Jesus... sorry dude. I’d bring up in the lobby. Nothing will bring the GM out quicker than mentioning bedbugs where people are checking in
And new clothes, and new suitcase. Seriously, it’s a process to rid yourself
Show it to the hotel manager, tell him to get you 3 days voucher or 100k points for the trouble or you are going to escalate it to Twitter, cc Marriott cc Deloitte travel desk. Also ask them to foot the ER bill.
Had some team members staying there. Sent this to them. They are cancelling reservations
OP, in essence you have already destroyed them on social media... fishbowl reaches a sizeable fraction of their key clientel 😎
Yeah, it’s crazy how disinterested they seem. I’m about to take my concerns to social media.
Had this happen once - if they keep ignoring you post on yelp. I did this and included the room number - they suddenly took action within 30 min
Why are you calling? OP you’re being way too passive about this. Go down to the lobby and demand to speak to a manager and throw a big f’ing deal about this
Yep, I’m asking them to replace everything that isn’t plastic. Clothes, shoes, luggage.
I have the closeup picture above, I have another picture of the same culprit from further away, so that you can tell it’s clearly in their hotel room. And I also have pictures of the severity of my bites. We’re now closing out Day 5 (if you consider Thursday to be Day 0), and NO ONE has returned my calls. I received an email response this morning, but that email was pointless. It’s extremely out-of-character for me, but I’m about to destroy them on social media.
Op dead from bed bugs. Rip in peace OP 🙏🏼
Had half my team get chewed up by bed bugs at a Starwood property.
While it sucks getting bit it is no worse than mosquito bites.
What you have got to try to avoid is bringing them home to your house. That can cost you a couple thousand dollars to get rid of them. I learned more about this than I ever wanted to. Rule number one never put a suitcase on the bed. Number two never let a single article of clothing touch a hotel bed. They get on your clothes or they get on your suitcase and travel back to your house then you are screwed.
Best thing is to take every single article you have of clothing that was on the trip double or triple bag them in plastic bags. When you get home go straight to the dry cleaners or laundromat and have them cleaned. In a perfect world the hotel will do so before you leave But I would not trust them and I would do it again myself when I got home.
If you have a steamer I would steam the hell out of your suitcase. And whatever clothes you wear home come off the second you step in the door and go straight into a plastic bag and you go straight to the shower. Then get those clothes in a washer preferably on hot or straight to a dry cleaner.
Also- check your suitcase and clothes thoroughly and make the Westin was and dry all of your clothes to ensure all good
Also call your travel director. They have access to the big wigs because of all the (lucrative) group meetings. Things move fast when they make some calls.
I had my full stay refunded and got 30,000 bonus points last year at a Marriott after talking with the manager.
@PwC3, you speak for yourself. For me personally, I’ve never had a mosquito bite make me feel like an itchy toddler that can’t control the scratching. Different people react differently, I guess. I followed all these instructions over this past weekend, and I’ll NEVER put anything on a hotel bed again. But ultimately, like you said, I hope to keep my home bug-free and would like to avoid the risk, and just replace everything soft-surfaced.
Yelp was a decent warning shot: but Twitter will get quicker results
@OP you are within every right to cause a huge deal about this. It’s not just about you- it’s about the safety of others staying in the hotel. You have an obligation actually to (figuratively) set that place in fire for a day.
Update: They responded on my Facebook post and said, "We are sorry to hear about your experience. Can you please send us a direct message to speak further about the issue. Thank you”
To which I responded, “Or you could return ANY of my multiple phone calls, emails, to your property, to Marriott Corporate, via Customer Service, via Consumer Affairs, or any of the other runarounds I’ve been subjected to for the past SEVEN days now. Meanwhile, I was woken up this morning by unrelenting, severe itching on my hand, which are now starting to bubble 👇🏻”
God dammit I have a reservation here for next week. Thanks for the heads up OP, I will be changing
