There are very few good books on consulting and IT services that I have seen . What should such a book cover for it to be useful to a large number of consultants ? Specific topics like how to grow a career , how to develop business etc OR a general purpose overview from all angles ?

I’m a new patent prosecution associate and unfortunately only just now realized that maybe prosecuting patents isn’t something I want to do long term. I loved copyright (and trademark) in law school, but I have loans to pay off. Any tips for organizing a bedroom, closet, dresser & bathroom? My teen has IADHD, and low executive functioning. Her room looks like a land mine. Clean clothes are mixed in with dirty, her desk is a disaster, she won’t let go of clothes she’s outgrown, drawers are open with clothes hanging out. I interviewed with kpmg for a senior associate position. They waited until the offer to tell me that they see me best as an associate. Which would be a step back in my career and even less money than we talked about. The job posting says minimum of 3 years and I have 4. Don’t understand why they like to waste people’s time like this.

So i have been fortunate that i have managed to go through my career without the need for a degree. I was lucky enough to have been hired by one of the worlds top consulting firms, worked with a whole lot of big clients and travelled a lot. It's gotten to the point where I am not even asked about the lack of a degree on my resume. Personally though, it bothers me. So I’m in industry from big 4, and a colleague with same yoe comes from MBB. High paying tech firm. I think I work harder and produce quality content at speed, but they can hold executive conversations that tend to impress senior stakeholders.

Big 4 produces work horses and MBB produces leaders. Also they could be a work horse too since I don’t have full visibility.

Anyone have similar experiences or do I just suck at executive stakeholder management?
