I’ve been on the bench with J1 for about 3 months. I was worried that because I couldn’t find another project, I would get laid off so I found J2, which pays more, is very meeting heavy, but I really like. I’ve kept J1 because I’m still on the bench doing absolutely nothing and getting paid. Thinking about looking for a role on a project with J1 that’s not along my career path but will allow for me to do work with no calls so that I can manage both jobs. I work as an AGM in a busy restaurant. Been working there for just over a year, and haven't had a single raise. Received an offer for an internal promotion and the verbal offer differed from the written offer. Specifically, the bonus verbalized was 2% higher than the offer letter. HR basically just said ‘sorry, our mistake the letter is right’. What would you do?

Anyone else just sitting around waiting for the ax to drop? I'm a soon to be 2nd year corporate associate who has seen work completely dry up. My utilization held pretty steady around 50% immediately after shutdown, but August was below 15 billables with no appreciable work in the pipeline. Aside from letting people know I'm available and doing pro-bono/CLE, it's starting to feel like a serious "covidcation" leading to termination.

I’m a new hire and currently the only creative on a team of developers. I’ve requested Figma—but IT has pushed back, asking for “detailed business justification… explaining it is beneficial or will assist in day-to-day tasks”.

I’ve already provided info of that nature directly from Figma’s website. Suggestions on what else might convince them?

Further context: our marketing dept currently uses Sketch. And my employer’s industry is insurance claims management.

I have been trying to get a job since 2021.went on maternity in 2020....was doing freelance meanwhile.
Now it's soo tough to get a job...i have been applying endlessly..people call take details and not get back.
Companies take round of interview .ask for pay slips ..bank statements and then stop picking calls..dnt reply to messages..
I dropped emails complaining the same..
.but again no reply ..god knows what is wrong with this field of architecture ..neither they wanna pay and not revert back
