Best company/role/function if I only want to work 20-25 hours a week? Life should be lived and I work too much. Want to cut back and reorder my priorities.
Hello All. I have been in Support for 15 years and I would love to advance into a technical leadership role. I'm pretty open to any possibilities: Customer Success, PM, QA, etc The question is how? I have a mentor at my workplace who works in my "dream" department, I have reached out to hiring managers for various positions but am always told "you aren't a good fit." And the odds seem stacked against me. Any feedback on what else I can be done as I truly want more responsibility and advancement.
Here is my idea for a startup! I collect all the data from career transitions and use Data Analytics to predict the most likely career transitions. I could start with consulting. What do you guys think about this? I would be able to predict based on your firm(mbb, big4), your experience, which role you are likely to move (Faang pm, strategy manager, move to mbb). I have all the data to do this, but wanted your thoughts. Would the output of this be relevant to you?
Interviewing for a role at BP, what are they like as a firm to work at? It’d be the commercial/strategy side of the business rather than production. I understand they went thru a major re-org to be relevant for the future energy industry. How’s that going?
Is McKinsey still hiring? I saw a lot of open positions a couple days back and applied right away? What's the recruiting process like? TIA
I am considering an industry position for a near-IPO start up that will make equity part of the comp package. I don't want to look like a total newb to them, so what questions should I ask or what....
Anybody pick up an online adjunct teaching position on the side? I’m thinking about it but wanted to see if anybody had any experience with it. Thanks
What is it like in industry if your role is SEC and SOX? Is that a good path or is it a dead end with Big 4 like hours?
Got offered a consulting job with CFGI for a manager position (12% raise). I don’t like Audit anymore and it just makes me unhappy. It impacts my health a lot. Had to work till 4-5 am during busy time and some very busy days during this summer. Partners tried to help me move to Deals since beginning of the year but it won’t happen right away. They will ask me to do the audit for another year. My guts told me to move to CFGI but I’m nervous. Should I move now in Sept or wait for PwC uncertainly?
How much is an MBA valued for a consulting exit? Example: Two consultants, A and B who went into the same firm right after college. A spent 2 years as an AC, 1 year as an SAC, 2 years as a C. B spent 2 years as an AC, 2 years MBA, 2 years as a C. Will a PE firm value B over A?
Does KPMG do case studies for experienced hires? I’m interviewing for an Associate, Financial Management position. I just wanna know if there will be a case study involved.
Got a call from a Salesforce recruiter for the San Francisco office. I am a manager, and this would be a director role. Any thoughts on the company?
Hi folks! I am new to interviewing. Any tips on how to prepare for an initial phone interview with a recruiter for a position I applied for? What kind of questions should I be expecting? Thanks !
Deloitte has a number of roles for Advisory Manager Financial services Risk management, one of which I've applied to. It has been 3 weeks and haven’t heard anything, is this normal or have they passed on my application? I believe I've met all their requirements in a candidate for the role.

As the most junior person on-site, is it a mistake to always offer to pick up lunch for the team? Want to be a team player but not minimize my role! Thoughts?
I grew up with strict father who doesn’t like getting happy and showing emotions , there are instances I felt this was specifically for women. When I got out of my home around 17 for college I became a very cheerful and excited person for every single thing. I loved myself , enjoy every sunset etc. met my boyfriend who was an introvert but he used to feel so happy seeing me happy for tiny things in life. FF 7 years - married and all I hear is sarcastic comments for my emotions. Contd..
HPE Corporate Strategy team is hiring for Associate level roles. Great opportunity for pre MBA analysts from Consulting/IB background. DM me for more information.
Found out project is getting extended again in a few months...is it bad to ask to roll off bc it's been over a year and you're tired of it? How do the managers on here feel about that?
I recently left a pretty good summer internship to take a full time job and I regret it. I have been losing sleep over it all summer. And after remote work ends, the job would be in a high cost of living city as well. Due to this, I am looking at switching jobs again. I feel terrible about starting my career as a job hopper. Despite getting interviews at good companies, nothing is making me feel better about this situation. I don’t know how to handle the thoughts racing in my mind.
I’m burnt out on taxes; I wanted to do 10 returns a year, if that. Looking at an accounting manager position with KPMG, from the job description, looks like just accounting and financial reporting. Does anyone know if that is true. Also, how’s the culture at KPMG? Looking in the STL area.
Pros and cons of working in Human Capital Consulting for Deloitte GPS? (Government and Public Sectors) How are the exit ops?
