I have an initial recruiter phone interview with Square Thursday. Is it it just a phone call or is it a video call and they didn’t specify. If it’s a video call what’s the dress code like? I’m coming from consulting so all my interviews were in suits. Any tips to get past the recruiter phone screen?
Hello fishes.
I was reached out by a Microsoft recruiter yesterday. And I told not interested in the position. Now I feel little bad may be i should have given the interview. Can I reach out to the recruiter again ?

Hey guys. I have been applying to Amex for the past 1 year. Tried applying on the portal, through referrals and even hr consultants reached me regarding the roles since I have a relevant profile. But not once have I been shortlisted or called for an interview. What could be the problem?
PS: I have gotten calls from every other company for the same profile but not amex. Can't be a problem with the profile. Seems something dicey which I'm not aware of.American Express

After submitting my resume for the Global Finance and Business Management full time position at JP Morgan (my dream job!), I got a HireVue invite the next day! However, I completed it 9 days ago and still have no response....
When do we get a response in average, and after how much time does it mean I probably am not getting an offer to continue?
Thanks!

Very professional response, OP!
The response was 100% appropriate in my book.
OP I agree. They best response the recruiter should have taken, was to review everyone who applied that were FROM BOSTON and go through the process of narrowing down to the best fit. Then follow up with you and explain that the HM/Client has changed the requirements for the role and they are now looking for someone to be onsite/hybrid. The fact that she wanted and update “ASAP” is RIDICULOUS! Some of them act so out of touch, as if people don’t have rent/mortgage, kids in school, families etc. Not everyone can just pack up and leave on a whim, and certainly not for a “contract job”.
Hey OP just letting you know not all of us are clueless.
OP’s response is justified.
I'm sure it's kinder than what a lot of people would have wrote back
No racism intended but it’s usually the 🇮🇳 recruiters that are like this.
They always end their statement with “please update me ASAP” after telling you that it’s onsite and that you got to relocate to the Sahara Desert where the closest grocery store is 100 miles away by camel.
@Business Systems Analyst 1 you are not racist. As a Recruiter myself I get calls from them and they are NOT putting in the NECESSARY work it takes to READ, REVIEW, and QUALIFY what is deemed a Good and Qualified candidate. This stems from years of experience of them calling me about jobs I DO NOT qualify for. All they do is MATCH words and send out a bunch of emails, without putting in the work to actually READ the resume. When they call me I many times have to ask them “DID YOU READ MY RESUME?” Because if they did they would not be calling me about jobs that I am NOT qualified for. Imagine calling me about jobs that I have recruited for but not actually done. Further more when I am recruiting, I always have a map pulled up of the city/state that I am recruiting for so that I am mindful of commuting times for folks I am reaching out to and I can better understand the geography of a place I do not live. “THEY” have a tendency to email you about a job that many times are on the other side of the country as if they expect you to jump in your Concorde jet and fly to work every morning. I blame some of these American companies though, because they rather pay for CHEAP & UNQUALIFIED labor, than pay us QUALIFIED recruiters more money to do it right the first time.
Good for OP. These recruiters are so idiotic. I swear about 3/4ths of the low rent headhunter industry could be replaced by ChatGPT and it would be a big improvement.
Those complaining about responses ignore the fact that recruiters basically bail on any candidate and won’t let them know all the time. Let them know how we really feel maybe they won’t be such sht at their jobs. Good job OP!
Recruiters are mostly garbage— in my many years I’ve never met one who didn’t waste my time, and I’ve always landed great jobs on my own. Once you get into the 3rd party recruiter thing, you’re merely a product. They don’t care about what is good for you; they want to place a body into a role and get paid. Of course they want it to go well, but mostly so the company trusts them on the next placement. I’m sure there’s exceptions or good recruiters out there, but there’s so many bad ones I just avoid them all at this point.
This is why recruiters have such a bad rep. They don’t gaf about candidates.
This used to just be the way it was. When I was indie, we’d travel to the client site on these temporary engagements Monday-Thursday. Now they don’t want to pay the travel costs but still expect you to be there. Smdh

Boston is just a few hours away. You can manage it

This is absolutely absurd lol
Crazy to think that they are serious about relocating for a temp job. I know that there are some people who need a job, but I mean, I don't know if I would relocate unless I already had an excuse to want to move there.

I’m surprised they didn’t just say you could take the Acela train from nyc to Boston three days a week because that’s less crazy than relocating
Had this happen to me, but the recruiter was much more understanding, and it was a FT position- she pretty much said, “I assume you don’t want to relocate, but if you are open…” Recently had a recruiter reach out to me for a call center supervisor role making like $60k a year. I gave him a pretty similar response to what you gave, OP

I now want to share my exchange with a recruiter who reached out on a $30/hr contract role. When I said “you’ve got to be kidding me” he just said “I know, it’s sad” 😂😂
Well thanks for realizing. I know it’s not their fault these companies are such jokes but COME ON!
And the company, Okta. Yes the one worth $14+ billion is looking for $30/hr contractors with bachelors degrees and they “really want someone certified” .. of course they do but that pay ain’t paying the bills hun!
That doesn't even look real

Sorry to say 100% a real message I got. 😂😂
Funny enough though, he didn’t respond to my message back lol.
