Thinking about buying a small property either in Scottsdale or Denver to rent it out on Airbnb. Which one is a better city for it? I know Scottsdale is fun and attracts younger crowd as it is near Tempe/ASU bars, but unsure of Denver. I suppose a property in Vail or other mountain towns could be a bit more attractive compared Denver due to all the outdoor activities, but Denver might be better all year around? Any thoughts/experiences people can share?

Currently owning a house worth 1 Crore INR where I’ll be closing my home loan by this August. Please suggest diversified options of Investment for my retirement. I don’t have any investment till now (except the house) as I used my whole income to close off the Loan which I took in 2019.

Base is at 180k, after tax, insurance , 401k and ESPP (max out), my bi-weekly pay is only like 3600 (like 8000 monthly). Can people really save this kind of money, or most people rely on their stock appreciation?

Do bank managers/loan officers at local branches have any sway in approving loans? I live in a small Midwest town would it be better to go to my local bank and see if people I know there can get a better rate etc on an auto loan?

How did you get up the courage to invest? I max out the annual allowable contribution amount for my 401K, but otherwise I’ve got everything in savings. I have no debt, just a bunch of excess cash I’m too scared to do anything with. I know this is irrational - I’m above the FDIC-insured amount and I’m also losing value to inflation.
