Hi everyone. I’m a front end software engineer. I’m interviewing next week for a solutions engineer at a company I really like, which I mistakenly applied for as I saw they needed ReactJS, JavaScript, HTML/CSS. Upon reading the job description, it’s clear I will be doing a lot of sales and client consulting over actually coding. I know they have a FE SWE role open. How would you approach asking the recruiter if there are any SWE openings I could be considered for instead ?

What is the average amount of time to fill a role? How long in advance should a recruiter start working with a hiring manager to get their position posted? I think it depends on the industry but curious to hear if there is a national average and if that number is even realistic given the increased number of roles in the market. Also curious to know what average numbers some of you are seeing in your companies.

For lots of different reasons I get the impression that younger people aren’t equipped for the employer, employee relationship.

So I was a 5th year associate in nyc making 100 k a year 2k billable hours.. I decided to leave for the role Im in now.. my old countered to keep me at 115k (which was like pulling teeth for them) but I left anyways now I find out that they offered a 7th year 150 k and a partner title should I be offended that they didn’t even try more with me

Thoughts on Wealth Management as an industry? Offered a role to work under a senior FA and eventually take over the book (~$800M AUM and growing). Wondering what people think about my situation. I’ve been offered a role with a company. The job description didn’t mention college degree as a requirement. On my CV I have a section listed as “Education” and under it I have “Business Studies” with the university name and the 3 years that I attended the course (2.5 to be exact). It’s a 4 year degree and under this I have my High School equivalent with the years I attended there. The education wasn’t mentioned in the interviews. Continued below.
