Ive heard of firms letting people work remotely given family situations. Have you asked KPMG if this is possible?
I haven’t yet...we’re a few weeks away from finding out where we’ll be (could actually end up in a city with an office, just don’t know due to the matching process), and about 6 months from actually moving. But this is going to be the first thing I do!
KPMG would certainly let you work remotely if you are close to an airport. AAS work will likely be remote or client site, no real need to go into an office.

I would talk to KPMG first. We had someone at our office who had to move because his wife got accepted to a school across the country. He works on the same clients as he did before, just remotely.
This situation is probably made easier if you tell them that you’ll come back to the area when your partner is finished their residency. But I’m sure a false promise just to help facilitate the remote working situation is fine 😂
This was my thought also, am definitely planning on asking!
I know Deloitte is accommodating in situations like this. It’s especially common with military spouses.
PwC also has remote positions. Not sure if KPMG has something similar to pwc’s COEs, but most of those positions are full remote for PwC. I know someone who moved to another state but continues to be employed by their home office in Texas.
Center of Excellence. But it’s basically they have one group that does all the major testing for a single FSLI. Like they have one for PPE and every engagement outsourced their PPE testing to that group, so it’s all done on one uniform format, and they’re supposed to be capitalizing on automation to be able to make things more efficient.
Idk how those things are going, it started like 2 years ago and I’ve since left the firm so I’m not in the loop.
This is all encouraging to hear..my first plan was to inquire about whether I would be able to stay on and work remotely. We won’t find out where we’re going for a few more weeks but that will be my first line of defense. Thanks!
