I have a question, fellow bowlaz! I work in a small advertising agency in Oslo, Norway, and we struggle to get in contact with international ad media such as Adweek (Ad Freak) and Ad Age whenever we want to show off our creative work. Does anyone of you have a way in, or tips on how we can get in contact with media outlets like these? Cheers

Speaking as a remote exempt creative at an agency that has done return to office I’d say it’s genuinely a personal choice or preference on what you’re looking for.
Are you wanting to leave your current position because you’re unhappy? Or the work isn’t fulfilling? If so, might def be worth the exploration but make sure you understand (especially if you’ve been remote for a long time) the possible difference in both work life balance and flexibility as well as potential efficiencies.
I’m the type of person who loves to visit the office occasionally (remote out of state) but when I am in office I find myself distracted easily, less efficient, and as if I don’t get as many actual working hours (unless I stay way late). I do my best work when I can sit with my thoughts anywhere and then work them out with my partner. While some people find that feeding off others energy gets them to their best work. The social part every once in a while is nice! But, I’ve been in the industry so long now that I want to do my job well and sign off at a decent time so I can live my life.
Factor in: commute time, potential growth opportunity, any family/schedule/ childcare impacts (if you have kids), added expenses for public transit and or lunches (aka make sure you’ve either got benefits or perks in the offer that help offset that), etc.
Another thing to factor in is the ad industry is in another stage of turmoil. Between ai, impending recession, mergers, mass layoffs etc. it’s rather unstable. So just something to keep in mind.
There’s a lot of remote possibilities
If you leave, can you refer me to your position? I'm an unemployed Designer looking for work right now 😅
It’s definitely worth exploring other opportunities, even if most companies are back in the office. While remote work offers flexibility and comfort, in-person roles can offer different growth opportunities—networking, team dynamics, and access to resources. The change in routine might feel challenging at first, but it can also bring new energy, fresh perspectives, and professional development. If you're considering it, think about what’s most important for your long-term career growth and work-life balance. Would the in-office experience enhance your goals, or is remote work still your preferred style?
Exploring other opportunities never hurts—it’s the best way to understand your market value. But if you already have a fully remote role, I’d only switch if the new opportunity clearly offers better pay, growth, or stability. Curious to hear from people who moved from remote back to hybrid/in-office—was the adjustment tough?
