Some times the person they feel most comfortable around to just be themselves is the person that they will totally allow themselves to feel all emotions warts and all. Some one that they can really ugly cry in front of without judgement.
It’s not you. Toddlers often stop crying for whoever wasn’t first involved in the meltdown. Try to accept your mom’s help - it doesn’t mean you are less of a mother. Keep going mama, this shit is hard.
Pro tip: none of us got it. And I’m willing to bet your own mom didn’t either. She’s just forgotten. And we all know your husband doesn’t, either. We’re all a hot mess. Hang in there.
Don’t take it personally! I have a 5 year old and have experienced that so many times! It does hurt and it’s so easy to feel like a failure but it’s not personal. Toddlers feel so many emotions and they don’t have the tools to process them and sometimes they take it out on their mommies because they are so comfortable with us. Hang in there! This time will flash by and one day you’ll be missing the toddler years!! 😭😭
