Personally, I’d recommend that your start learning by focusing on a few things instead of all things investing. I won't recommend a source because there are too many, and all seem to provide similar insights on the basics. But the key concepts to focus on for someone who is beginner are:
1. Stocks also known as Equities.
2. ETFs - exchange traded funds. A type of fund
3. Brokerage - how to place and cancel an order online. There are several different types of orders. This is important if you're brand new to investing.
4. Tax implications. Biggest thing to consider as an investor.
5. Make a shortlist of companies you like. Every company is likely going to have a stock offering. Ofcourse the assumption is that companies you like are all publicly listed.e.g. Apple vs Staples which is private.
I like these baby steps before one gets inundated with tons of learning material.
This is a helpful breakdown. Thank you!
I would highly recommend I will teach you to be rich by Ramit Sethi. He explains the basics very well and gives you a good foundation.

Search “three fund portfolio” it’s very simple stuff
I personally like Ramit Sethi. There’s also JL Collins, Mr. Money Mustache, and Dave Ramsey. Each of these people offer a different perspective on what to do with your money and you can see who’s message resonates with you the most then follow that plan. Either way some good steps are:
- emergency fund of 6 months expenses
- pay off all consumer debt
- invest at least to company match 401k
