15 years in SAFETY & SECURITY , I HAVE A MASTERS AND CERTIFICATES. sending resumes I'm over qualified, not qualified enough or something. Has 10 different people look at my resume of my peers and they say nothing is wrong. Then why I can't get another career ????
I’m right there with you. I’ve been looking for a new job for nine months and have only had two interviews total. I truly don’t think we’re doing anything wrong—it feels like a numbers game at this point.
Yes, but keep trying and best of luck
How would you describe your approach to “find(ing) another job”? Are you just applying to jobs online? Or are you networking with your network (and their networks) to help you land the next job? If you’re not meeting with people (in person or in zoom) or having phone conversations, then I think you need to change your approach. That’s how you set yourself apart. Also, are you a part of any legal organizations or voluntary bar organizations? If so, have you volunteered at their events or to help their board? I found one of my favorite jobs when I volunteered on the board of a voluntary bar organization - helped out before and after events. The president of the org referred a recruiter to me. I interviewed and landed the job. Fast forward, that firm promoted me. My advice: rethink your approach, and help others, and they’ll want to help you. Best of luck!
I am seeking roles in business or IP law, and have completed certificates and USPTO training to gain more knowledge. I have tried cold-calling/emailing firms.. applied to jobs with countless tailored resumes and cover letters.. even videos when asked. I get into interviews and they give me positive feedback, but choose another candidate. What am I doing wrong?!
