With parents it sounds
Probably a room in a house, I save $0 a month between rent/student loans /eating
How tf at you guys doing this. I save like $500 a month. Maaaaybe $1k if I was being frugal. Anyone else with me?
4.1k a month after taxes on a 70k salary. So that's $1100/month already. You should try to save an additional $900/month and you'll be at $2k/month. Car insurance - switch to metromile if you travel since they only charge insurance per mile you drive. Look into a spot that's little farther and cheaper that has free parking. If you travel 4 days a week you don't need to spend so much money on rent AND parking. Spotify you can get $15/month family plan. Find 5 friends and split it $2.5/month. Netflix you can also split. Hair cuts go to a hood I barber . I pay $20 incl tip for beard and cut twice a month and look fresh af. I budget $600/month for food and going out. Shouldn't be spending so much on food if you travel Whatever I save goes into vacation fund. I cook most meals at home. When I go to restaurants with friends don't order too much food. Instead of going restaurant incite ppl over to your apartment split groceries and cook food and get drunk. Never order alcohol at dinner. I pre-game bars so limit spending at bars. Gym can be $30/month. 600 going out/food + 100 insurance + 40 hair cut + 30 gym + 50 phone + 20 Spotify/Netflix etc + 40 internet = $880/month. Find a spot to rent that's $1100/month incl parking and utilities. That's $2k/month in expenses. $2100 in savings.
I save about 3500 a month at 80k income. Max 401k, max ESPP, max IRAs, plus an extra 500 or so per paycheck roughly
When I was making that much I didn't save at all but I have an expensive boyfriend.
I save $500 or so. I'm in the NYC area.
I think i need a financial advisor..
Wow I feel bad now. NYC, 72k, save about 1.5-2k/month depending on what I do during the month
These types of threads tell me a lot of people spend money like there's no tomorrow just because they have it.
$1,600 rent, $650ish on food, car insurance, monthly parking, haircut, monthly gym, Spotify/Netflix, phone,Internet, utilities. That's easily close to $3k if you include a few hundred for entertainment/going out
About 1600
*3200
God where do you live D1?
Like $1000-$1500 a month
Wtf... How much do you pay in rent/where are you based? A1
When I lived in dc area I managed to save about 25-30k on a 70k salary. I moved home and now save about 45-50k on a 85k salary. Talking about per year obviously.
I pay $900 rent in DC. Location not a priority for me 💪
^where do you pay 900 in DC?!
