Thoughts between opportunities at BCG Platinion or EY-Parthenon? Comp, exit opportunities, wlb, etc. For reference, I have two yoe doing tech strategy, and am interested in both tech strategy work as well as growth strategy/pe. Thanks!

I would almost never recommend anything over BCG, but in this case take EYP (assuming you’re getting MBB equivalent pay). Platinion isn’t BCG. It pays less and the folks there are made to feel like second class citizens.

P1- not in Europe…

like

EY Parthenon Strategy? If so, then do that if you want PE

like

EYP over Platinion if you are looking for greater variability in experience, which I would recommend this early in the career

like

Yea would say so too - there are options for rotational programs (maybe Platinon) has them too so not too hard to get experience outside of Deal Tech/SSG if that’s what you want. SSG is even more niche, but great skill set to learn especially if you are more CTO minded.

Which roles are you comparing? Depends. And what do you mean when you say “tech strategy?”

What group within EYP ?

Software Strategy Group

Hello! I’m gearing up for my year end comp conversation and I’d like to be a better idea of what people are making to ask for a raise. I’m currently an associate, but am hoping to get VP this cycle. Any insight on what your comp looks like and how it’s structured would be super helpful!

Based on the Gross salary offered I have calculated the in hand salary per month would be around 152000 considering 150000 in 80C, 50000 in NPS and 200000 deductions due to home loan interest. Total tax liability is around 400000. Any other options do I have to save tax further (other than HRA, LTA)? Thanks in advance.

One of the reasons I want to transition from industry to consulting (tier 1) is that I get frustrated when I have to collaborate with mediocre people. My assumption is that Tier 1 consulting firms hire really sharp people and if I can get in, I’ll be collaborating with folks on top of their game (not expecting much from clients). I’m aware there are personal aspects I need to work on like my mindset, patience etc etc, but I just get so frustrated with blatant stupidity.
