Would you take the following offer: Base - ~$180K; Bonus - ~$30K; RSU - ~$15k; Total Comp - ~$225K; F500 firm, not tech, mid-west, individual contributor role with potential for senior roles in 2 years. Good WLB, but not the most interesting industry. Currently working at a T2 Strategy Consulting firm, 2.5 years out of a T10 MBA. $200K all in. 7 YoE. Happy with consulting so far and performing well, but would like better WLB. How much better are tech exit ops given SF cost of living?

Currently in New York and trying to find a finance role in SF Bay Area. Does location play a big role in being selected for the interview phase by recruiters/hiring managers.
Have anyone done contracting negotiations before? I've interviewed for co A & B and co A extended an offer today. The offer does not meet my current salary. Co B's interview structure is 3 rounds and I've finished my 2nd round today. The recruiter mentioned that since I am a contractor my current salary is incomparable as they will provide benefits, etc. Is this true? I have 2 yrs of contracting HR exp from fortunate 500 co’s & OMW to get my SHRM-CP. Appreciate your advice in advance.

Serious question. What makes a good copywriter? What skills would you expect? Aside from a command of language. I’m trying to understand if my expectations in hiring for my team are unrealistic.
A&M fishes do you feel pressure while taking vacations as your comp is tied to billable hours? Also what’s the policy on remote work, can people work from another country (eg. Canada or Europe ) for a few days if they are supporting during US work hours. Big 4 is strict about international work location, so just curious.

Is consulting actually that lucrative? I feel like my friends around me in fields like sales and commercial real estate make a killing. I’m currently 24 - is this something that catches up in the long run / exit ops?
DFolks.. where are you planning to spend $500. I am gifting "1 Day Spa and Massage" package from Ritz Carlton to my wife.
Sitting at my desk, basking in a glorious post leg day feeling, smell of a mild perfume and freshly brewed coffee, my dog gently snoring at my feet, the warm golden rays of the sun streaming through the windows, sending reflections of rainbow across the room, and a client saying “great job Deloitte, the leadership loved the presentation last night”. It’s a good day!
Offered a position on strategy team of Fortune50. Pay would be only a few thousand more. Want to try for B-school in a year. Should I stay in consulting or take offer to try/learn something new?

Finding it extremely difficult to stay motivated. I feel exhausted from the hours and even less motivated when I find out how much of a variance there is in comp. How did ppl know when to go private?

Quitting Accenture - How long after last day does your health insurance last? My new company’s health insurance starts the month AFTER my first day. So was wondering if there would be a gap in my health insurance. Also if health insurance continues after my last day (for example, until the end of the month) - do I have to pay for the insurance premium for the rest of the month?
Are any of you guys personal trainers/coaches at fitness studios on the side? What cert did you do and any tips?
Hey I’m going through the interview process with a few consulting firms and am looking to get more practice. Does anyone have a pdf of a case book they can share? Also, if anyone else is interviewing and wants to run a few practice cases over Zoom let me know!
Taking some time off. Need some book recommendations. Some light interesting non-fiction. No self help or management books. Just interesting topics that won’t make me think about work.
Interviewed at Deloitte in November of last year for S&A role in NY. Recruiter said the team felt you were very strong but hiring freeze is active, will move forward later. Is this kind rejection?
We have sales people in Canada and the US, the Canadians make 150K CAD and down here it’s 150K USD, the Canadians argue they should be making 30% more than the US colleagues to be equal bc of the exchange! I explain the salary is dependent on the market data for them in Canada, WHERE THEY LIVE, and you can’t compare it to the US employees and the market data down here. Overall they are both in the 75th% for total comp. for their industry. Am I wrong?
So here is a hypothetical prompt for a fictional novel- What will happen if all the folks on H1B reach their frustrations limit at the same time and Decide on mass migration out of USofA? #H1Bfreedom
Tech fish, what is your market TC vs your expected TC? Market TC = base + bonus + RSUs vesting over the next 12 months valued at GRANT price Expected TC = base + bonus + RSUs vesting over the next 12 months valued at CURRENT price Market TC should be competitive with what you can get from other companies. Expected TC is reflective of stonk luck. Would also be interesting to know how long you’ve been at your company. I’ll start Market TC = $330k Expected TC = $595k Tenure just under 3 years
