Disney Streaming Services I completed my interview process with DSS early last week, and was reached out by recruiter that all rounds were strong hires, and they are extending an offer. We set a time to talk on Friday about the offer. However, the announcement of targeted hiring freeze happened on Friday. I was ghosted with no call. What should I expect now? Would I still have chance to be offered?

Never invest more than an hour in any unpaid work. Ever.
Don't do it and don't work there. It's a bad sign.
This was a topic earlier this week. The consensus was don't do it, offer sample work because it's real. The most I'd do is provide perspective but don't do their work for them.
My answer to them: “You may be deciding whether to choose me, but I’m also deciding whether to choose you”.
Would be great to know the names of these places. That way others are warned.
OP, something like “I’m excited at the potential to work together, and will happily share work from my portfolio with you for evaluation. Unfortunately, I don’t do uncompensated work.”
Thanks all - agreed on the consensus. I'm not willing to do free work outside of giving my perspective. I offered to share more work in addition to my portfolio as well. Any tips on how to respectfully say no?
Carrot did this to me...hm no. Not going to scope your project for free.
Absolutely not. Your response was perfect.
Depending on how much you want to work there, I would consider agreeing to very specific deliverable such as one homepage mobile screen or 4 logo options or whatever type of project it is. (For some UX interviews, I’ve been asked to do a UX exercise and I’ve put in at least 10 hours of work in because I cared about the role/company. )
Laugh in their face and don’t look back.
Many years ago, long before self-driving cars were a real possibility, I was asked to do an ad for one as a copy test for a job. I thought it was a pretty smart ask, and did it gladly. As long as it’s truly a test, I see no big problem. This is common at google now from what I hear.
@RGAUser1 - Carrot did the same to me! They asked for an entire creative deck. I turned them down - later I found out it was a REAL project brief that their creatives were working on. Shady. 🤔
