Have you tried a mediation with a retired judge? If so, you could use a mock jury for that issue. Some sort of “objective” reaction would probably help the client see the light. Good luck!
do you not have people in your office to help? email threads with a local attorneys association for advice? other resources? why are people coming to fish bowl for trial strategy? we don’t know your case other than one sentence

Technically, the rules of ethics prohibit you from questioning them at trial if you know they’re going to lie. I’d withdraw rather risk an ethics complaint.
