Got a random email from a supposed Amazon recruiter for a SDE position (which is not at all a fit). The email is amazon.com domain and there are no red flags in the body but it doesn't feel like an Amazon recruiter due to the tacky signature, etc. Has anyone seen this kind of cold-calling from FAANG recruiter?

What did you do, OP? That’s what I want to know!
I really wish I could say, but it would definitely give away my identity.
If is a business product (Skype business) yes
Of course.. but does IT care to check? Nope.. unless of course you’re suspected of sharing secrets then your immediate supervisor etc could tell them to pull your logs.
Deloitte doesn’t store Skype messages. They’re lost as soon as the window is closed
Depending on the shop/industry, there could be many different tools actively monitoring email/voicemail/voice calls/txts/IM. If it’s company provided, considered it monitored and trackable.
@CO1 Ok, thank you. 🙏
Nope conversations are not logged unless there is spyware installed. Besides who has time to review every ping. This is not big brother
Probably an AFS thing only. Not true for LLP. What ROI does a firm have in doing this? We do have monitoring software that tracks file movements to sites like Dropbox because they want to protect against data theft. If OP sent an inappropriate emoji to their cute coworker - they are not in trouble until their coworker complains.
Depends on their storage practices. You’re part of a 250k company.. not likely they’re storing it for very long
At my firm, we have the capability to monitor all communications but we don't unless someone is flagged by HR or management for an audit. When that happens, we log and review 100% of their system activity for a defined duration of time.
What possible damage can you really do with IM/Skype chats? What are you so worried about here? Take a chill pill.
My current client tracks and reports inappropriate behavior at least once an year about one of our staff. It’s related to obscene language, inappropriate use of Skype or attempting to share credentials- all of which are prohibited
